Job Description
Business Unit and Department Structure (Business Unit function, Department function, size and Culture):
Global Markets and Research Technology (GMRT) Asia Pacific handles Risk management for technology application development and support for business, institutional investment banking. GMRT also coordinates risk management for all of the bank's Global Technology Operations (GTO). The department interacts heavily with Global partners in the U.S.

Role / Responsibilities / Key objectives
Senior Risk Lead within Asia/ PACRIM accountable for GMRT risk within the region. Additional responsibility may include supporting or driving regional GTO risk initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Drive cross coordination/ execution of Risk activities coming out of the central risk team across the GMRT teams represented in Asia/ PACRIM. This includes strong execution/ process focus to drive remediation, monitor progress, and go-to-green plans where known risk control gaps exist.
- Drive a strong culture of operational risk management within Asia GMRT
- Provide ad hoc risk support for regional GTO executive council (Bharat Laul, Asia Pac GTO BCMR Lead)
- Support for regulatory reviews - including managing relationships with other Asia risk and compliance contacts
- Deliver Line of Business Self Assessment of risk (LOBSA)/ Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA) input for Asia impact
- Provide Risk subject matter expertise for projects and risk identification efforts (e.g. clearings review for single point of failure)
- Provide regional risk perspective for Enterprise Information management (EIM)/Global Compliance / Corporate Operational Risk / Other programs (e.g. FFIEC - sufficient understanding of environment and applications to determine which are likely to be out of scope and therefore avoid inappropriate/unnecessary work hitting the support teams).
- Manage and ensure timely execution of any Business As Usual (BAU) risk and control routines related to GMRT people, process and systems within Asia.
- Exercise judgment and influence business leaders and peers to ensure adherence to Business Continuity (BC) and operational risk programs, balancing business strategy with appropriate risk/reward balance and adequate controls and remediation.
- Formulate and implement BC and Operational Risk processes, tools, policies and procedures in conjunction with Risk Program Office · Develop and maintain relationships with Legal, Audit, GCOR, EIM, and other control groups
Requirements
Essential Skills
Managerial Skills:
- Experience (3-6 years) in change execution
- Experience (4-8 years) in technology risk management, including information security management and technology audit management
- Comfort level to interact with and present to Executives/ Senior Leaders
- Demonstrated ability to quickly build deep and broad business/ technical acumen
- Proven project planning and management experience
- Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed and virtual environment
- Demonstrated track record of delivering results
- Process building/ re-engineering skills
- Ability to operate in a Global environment- manage across time zones
- Strong Data Skills
- Management reporting skills / expertrise in powerpoint reports to communicate progress against targets
