Vice President & Co-Manager – International Equity recruitment
The professional in this position will have a deep knowledge and proven experience directly related to international investing. The ideal candidate will have both the ability and willingness to participate and contribute to the development of a cohesive, dynamic team responsible for the implementation of a solid investment process. They will have responsibilities for helping identify key long- and intermediate-term investment trends critical for achieving competitive long-term investment returns. This individual will also have responsibility for individual company research and for making investment decisions (buy/sell of securities) for the portfolios managed by the international equity team. Finally, this individual will be actively involved in promoting the team’s capabilities to the Firm’s internal and external distribution team, external fund selection units and investment/due diligence analysts as well as other prospective and existing relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with lead portfolio manager in shaping and executing Sentinel’s International Equity Strategy.
- Propose and implement investment decisions (buy/sell equity securities) based upon a combination of fundamental qualitative and quantitative analysis consistent with the Firm’s international investment philosophy and process.
- Provide key input to determining strategic direction of investment decisions for any 12–18 month time frame.
- Ensure that investments held in the portfolio(s) continue to meet the selection criteria for the investment strategy
- Participate in key discussions with marketing and sales (distribution) to grow AUM in the International Equity Strategy.
- Provide input on and assistance with the preparation of communications materials and presentations for internal/external uses.
- Play an active role with marketing and product management to gain mindshare within the Sentinel organization.
- Make presentations to internal/external stakeholders/clients on the team’s investment process and strategies.
Requirements
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a focused team.
- Minimum 10 years investment industry experience as a portfolio manager and/or analyst
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of Bloomberg and FactSet a plus, other basic spreadsheet (Excel) and document (Word) capabilities required
- CFA Charter holder and/or advanced degree
- Must be able to pass a background check
