Job Description
The Southeast Asia Head of Communications manages the Corporate Communications and Media Relations strategy for the region, providing strategic advice and counsel to related Line of Business heads and Country leadership teams, supports brand and business goals, and manages reputation to promote and protect the brand.
This individual drives a disciplined strategy to promote country business strategy by:
- Developing proactive public relations, media relations and associate communications
- Managing reputation of the business in the media
- Build and deliver integrated communications plans across the relevant countries
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities/Activities:
- Reports to the Asia Pacific Head of Corporate Communications in Hong Kong
- Will work closely with local business heads and country leadership teams
- Responsible for defining and implementing country communications strategies to promote business objectives and goals through the development of internal communications plans, proactive media relations, and associate communications
- Responsible for actively managing the reputation of the business in Southeast Asian media channels
- Leverages enterprise wide processes and framework for communication
- Engages country leaders in the successful implementation of leadership and associate communications plans
- Partners with the Asia Pacific communications team, marketing and CSR to help create overall marketing and corporate affairs plans
- Assist in developing and maintaining key messaging in coordination with the business and other functional areas of the company internal and external communications
Requirements
Skills Requirements/Qualifications:
- Exceptional track record of success within a multi-national financial services organization
- Proven track record of advancement, leadership and business success with proven ability to design and execute Asian appropriate communication strategies within a global business context
- Must have established strong relationships with Asian business media
- In house experience in Investment Banking communications
- Ability to develop and execute a Business Communication Plan across Southeast Asia
- Business driven with strong financial acumen. Understands sources of revenue, expense and profit and comprehends issues hindering the business from reaching its goals - market share, competitors, etc
- Ability to lead multiple projects
- Consulting, strategic planning and problem resolution abilities
- An enthusiastic self starter
