Vice President, Compensation Payroll

Position Summary:
Provide leadership and strategic direction for Compensation and Payroll programs and departments. Direct the design, development, administration, and management of all Compensation and Payroll programs that incorporate industry best practices in alignment with LPL's growth and culture. Ensures development, delivery and alignment of HR products and services to support achievement of business objectives. Interface as a strategic partner with management on Compensation and Payroll strategies. Will need to place a high value on coaching, developing, and mentoring employees.

Essential Functions:

1. Compensation Responsibilities:
•Oversee Compensation area and manage two employees.
•Lead the development, administration and recommend budgeting for all compensation programs, strategies, policies and practices, salary structures and short and long-term incentive plans.
•Collaborates with all HR Operations functions to provide seamless, efficient and consistent Compensation processes in accordance with all company policies.
Develop and implement robust employee communication plans to maximize the perceived value of compensation.
•Manage the selection and supervision of compensation vendors, surveys, consultants, brokers, and technology.
•Provide metrics and benchmarking against industry and cross-industry standards. Ability to present and research competitive market and industry trends.
•Lead analysis and audits of compensation programs to provide recommendations for continuous improvements to attract and retain the best and brightest talent.
•Oversees management of the Compensation department budget and assists in the coordination of the budgeting process with Finance.

2. Payroll Responsibilities:
•Oversees Payroll department of nine employees.
•Directs management of payroll and timekeeping software, including but not limited to strategic development and maintenance activities, implementation of and/or execution of system requirements, automation of manual processes, and preparation of project plan for upgrades and conversions in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
• Develops continuous strategic process improvements to maintain the quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of the payroll functions and system of internal controls, to increase accuracy and decrease risk of fraud and errors.
•Collaborates with all HR Operations functions to provide seamless, efficient and consistent payroll processes which follow all company policies
• Oversees management of the Payroll budget and assists in the coordination of the budgeting process with Finance
• Comply with federal, state and local taxing authority requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements including SOX; advising management on needed actions; analyzing impact on payroll system.

3. Coaches and develops staff, conducts performance evaluations, and recommends salary increases. Leads a service-oriented work environment

4. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations, including SOX, as they pertain to Compensation and Payroll.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree (Focus in: business administration or related field, or equivalent experience)

Minimum Experience Required: 10+ years experience

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Certified Equity Professional (CEP) certifications are preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: HR, SPHR, and CCP preferred

MS Word-required
