Vice President Core Services Job in Columbus, Ohio US

PURPOSE:

The VP Core Services will be responsible for successfully building and leading a cross functional new team of resources to support the new IT organization through a company spin-off.  This role will be responsible for the team and overall maintenance of relationships with vendor partners in infrastructure, application development, and maintenance.  The role will also define and establish direction for the planning and management of approved technology projects to maximize returns, while delivering value to our customers.  In addition,  the role will manage the finance and audit team to ensure budget attainment for the companies IT infrastructure, and  adherence to corporate architecture standards. 

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

·         Establish and oversee the team that will be responsible for Vendor Management.  Partner with Vendor’s senior management team to set long term goals and manage critical issues that are escalated from the Vendor Management team.

·         Manage the finance and audit services team to ensure that all Company IT Infrastructure is tracking against budget and that project financials are following generally accepted accounting principles. Provide transparency and accountability to business units for infrastructure costs and allocations.

·         Manage the system architects and designers to ensure that planned deployment adhere to corporate architecture standards.

·         Develop and oversee senior management reporting on all program activities. Ensure that all projects are adhering to project management best practices and guidelines.  Develop and manage a governance and oversight process for Company technology project approval to replace the current TechOps process.

·         Develop and mentor staff, especially technical/digital skills, project management skills and leadership skills.

·      Analyze existing environment, generate ideas to improve service, and drive initiatives to improve service.

·      Identify and develop vendor relationships and negotiate large complex solutions.

·      Promote a share data/resources atmosphere in which business units are encourage and empowered to focus on the core needs of their business rather than devising their own solutions to common, enterprise-wide issues.

·      Provide leadership to technology groups in adopting common program and project methodologies, project monitoring and reporting.

DIMENSIONS: 

KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field of study 

·      Minimum 10 years of Information management leadership experience.

·      Minimum  5 years of IT Vendor Management experience including managing service level agreements

·      Previous experience with auditing and IT finance.

·      Strategy development and implementation

·      Demonstrate a competency in project management, including managing resources across multiple project in complex environment that meets business expectations. 

·      Extensive experience in leading large-scale, global organization transformations, including business outreach, organization design, change management, talent development and communications.

·      Superior analytics, planning, negotiation, vendor management skills.

·      Demonstrated outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, especially client facing, influence management, facilitation, collaboration and presentation skills.

Understanding business issues and selecting appropriate technology solutions is a complex and difficult task and requires a combination of good judgment, business understanding, and evaluation of the various technology options.

·      Collaborates with senior leaders to establish, support and implement strategic programs, including standardization and globalization initiatives.
