The Commonwealth Bank of Australia is seeking to hire an experienced Execution Manager to join its Structured Asset Finance team in London.

Institutional Banking Markets (IBM) is responsible for the provision of products and services to nearly 3,000 major corporate, institutional and government clients to optimise our clients’ capital structure and related financial flows. The Structured Asset Finance team in IBM engages develops and delivers large ticket asset based product solutions to the aviation, shipping and rail sectors together with the Institutional Banking and Corporate Banking client bases.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient execution of Structured Asset Finance transactions originated in North America and Europe in accordance with best practice. They will ensure that all risks are identified and mitigated and revenues maximized as follows: -

• Apply project and risk management skills and commercial acumen to plan, negotiate and execute structured asset finance transactions, both domestic and cross border within specified time frames.

• Participate in the final structuring of transactions by contributing relevant technical skills to maximise return while ensuring risks are mitigated. Liaising with lawyers and other advisors to confirm feasibility.

• Manage costs, resources and lead a small team of people.

• Implement the framework and procedures for managing transactions over their life.

• Manage handover of closed transactions in compliance with the Bank and Execution Services established Key Operating procedures.

• Develop effective working relationships with all stakeholders in the process. 

• Manage all necessary approval processes, in accordance with Bank policy.

• Identify and assess risks and ensure risk mitigants are implemented and documented. Risk evaluation, transaction negotiation and execution to be completed at the highest professional standard.

The successful applicant will likely be degree educated and will have proven experience as a senior Asset Finance Execution Manager, either as a generalist or specialist in the transportation sector, working within the banking and wider financial services community. Only applicants with the right to work in the UK will be considered for interview.
