Vice President / Executive Director, Asia Pacific Enterprise Financial Crimes Compliance recruitment
JOB PURPOSE
This Vice President / Executive Director position will be a key part of the Asia EFCC team, responsible for the implementation and oversight of the region's anti-corruption programme, including programme governance, policy development, training, quality assurance, monitoring, exam coordination and policy enforcement. The recruitment of a more junior compliance officer to join the team is planned for 2013.
The successful candidate must have anti-corruption experience, including an understanding of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and UK Bribery Act. An understanding of the operations of a large institution, transactional experience, and a working knowledge of the banking system, is also preferable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of the position include, at a minimum:
- Policy development and process improvement
- Managing the expense approval database for the region
- Monitoring of compliance with controls and remediation
- Widespread training, and raising the awareness of the anti-corruption policy across the region
- Enhancing the controls around the 'referred hire' process and consultants
- Conducting corruption risk assessments
- Responding to line of business enquiries regarding policy and legal and regulatory compliance
- Working with transaction teams to ensure adequate anti-corruption due diligence and contractual protections
The successful candidate will be expected to interact regularly with Anti-Corruption Compliance staff globally, other control functions within the firm, and the employees and management in all lines of business. The candidate must be able to exercise sound judgment and observe the highest degree of confidentiality in the handling of information received in the course of discharging responsibilities.
Skills
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 10 years experience in compliance or a related position (including regulatory or law enforcement)
- Strong leadership skills, including effective project management abilities
- An independent decision maker, able to make time-sensitive assessments
- Able to exercise initiative and develop creative solutions to complex problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/Access/PowerPoint)
