Vice President Executive – Finance recruitment

Who we're looking for

• An internationally recognized accounting qualification (e.g. ACA) with at least 10 years progressively responsible insurance accounting, budgeting, planning and financial reporting experience
• Significant Specialty Insurance experience in the London Market, Australia and Canada
• Experience in all aspects of forecasting, reserving and accounting for London market business and involving complex transactions and systems
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• A proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure, with significant additional hours as required involved; ability to travel to overseas offices and respond to changing priorities.

Role description

The VP Finance contributes to the success of the organisation by supporting the CFO, CEO and underwriters in the division by providing dedicated financial reporting, planning, analysis and support for the International division of this insurance organisation.
The VP will be an Executive member so must be a strong Director level.

• Prepares and compiles monthly and quarter management information reporting packs for the division including;
• Comparison of underwriting result to forecast and budget and prior period
• MDA style narrative report
• Production reports vs. budget and prior year
• Policy metric reports for submissions, bound policies, limits, exposures etc
• GA Expense reports
• Broker production reports
• Claims activity summary reports
• Other reports as may be deemed necessary from time to time
• Develop and enhance management reporting capabilities for the division
• Prepare and coordinate the budgeting and forecasting process for the division
• Assist in the evaluation of new business initiatives and strategic opportunities
• Co-ordinate the reserving process in conjunction with the actuarial department
• Co-coordinate risk reporting for the division with the risk department
• Responsible for coordinating data management activities for the division
• Assist with systems development and enhancements
• Interface with Europe,North Americaand group finance to support monthly, quarterly and year end close functions, data requirements and inquiries
• Performs other duties as required.
