Position Description

Morgan Stanley ("MS") is a global financial services firm that conducts its business through three principal business segments-Institutional Securities, Global Wealth Management via Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM), and Asset Management. MSWM's network includes approximately 15,000 Financial Advisors with total client assets of over $1.5 trillion. MSWM provides comprehensive financial advice and services to its clients including brokerage, investment advisory, financial and wealth planning, credit lending, deposits cash management, annuities, insurance, retirement and trust services.

Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association ("Bank" or "MSPBNA") seeks a Field Compliance Risk Supervisor on the Bank's Compliance Team.  The Bank provides deposit and lending products and services to serve the Private Banking needs of MSWM clients. The Field Compliance Risk Supervisor is responsible for supervising a five-member Field Compliance Team and for providing compliance oversight of employees of MSPBNA that conduct banking and lending activities in MSWM branches.

Skills Required

MSPBNA's compliance team has responsibility for the design and implementation of the bank's Annual Compliance Plan, including all necessary monitoring and testing plans, compliance with banking rules and regulations, as well as oversight of bank employees who conduct banking activities, including mortgage lending activities, in MSWM branches. The Field Compliance Risk Supervisor will support the Bank's Chief Compliance Officer in the management of compliance risk and report directly to the Head of Mortgage Compliance.

The Compliance Risk Supervisor will:

•Supervise a five-person Field Compliance Team located throughout the United States.
•Partner with, and leverage firm-wide monitoring groups and tools to oversee mortgage activities conducted by employees of MSPBNA in MSWM branches, including but not limited to marketing, inquiry and referral activities to help ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory rules and regulations, as well as compliance with all Firm and Bank policies and procedures.
•Partner with Bank Operational Risk to implement a branch-level monitoring and testing program that will include the review, approval and publication of branch review reports communicating the results of any monitoring and testing activity.
•Provide oversight to help ensure compliance with Loan and Deposit Production Office prohibitions and restrictions.
•Prepare and report results of monitoring and testing activities.
•Assist in the identification and remediation of mortgage related compliance risks.
•Monitor risk data and escalate issues to management.

Travel Required: 30-50%

Skills Desired

•Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related discipline.
•Experience in mortgage lending and all applicable rules and regulations.
•Experience in consumer regulatory compliance and fair lending.
•Compliance risk management experience a plus.
•Strong organizational, project management and reporting skills.
•Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to work both independently and with team members, under tight deadlines.
•Ability to work in a matrixed organization; leveraging resources across the organization to complete deliverables; and to prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary.
•Evidence of strong leadership capabilities or previous supervisory experience.
