Position Details
SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring the timely design, construction, and maintenance of a high quality, competitive Full Service cable telecommunications network, from the MTC to the line of demarcation with Field Operations. Leads design, construction, operations and maintenance of the Full Service Network for the system, including elements that support Cox Business and Cox Media . The position is responsible for the implementation of RF and Digital overlay systems operating over the HFC and fiber access network and intra-system backbone. Role ensures associated solutions comply with Cox established engineering standards and practices. Oversees and leads the local Network Operations and ensures network reliability and maintenance practices are followed. Develops plans and procedures that reduce plant and network impact to the overall customer experience. Works cross functionally and as a knowledgeable and participative member of the local Cox Senior Team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES
Oversight to ensure process improvements, network design changes, equipment installations, etc., meeting internal and external service level agreements to improve network reliability and provide timely completion of core network and Cox Business solutions adhering to Cox Standards and practices.

Establishes and ensures adherence to network performance measurements and goals, as standardized by the company.

Ensures that all BSS/OSS systems such as Remedy, GINIS, Granite, OPTIX, etc. are used appropriately and all data entered into those systems is correct and appropriately maintained
Creates and directs operational plans and activities that result in accomplishing business strategies, meeting the financial goals of the operation, and creating a reliable customer experience.

Provides leadership in translating customer expectations into actionable plans for the network and plant operations departments which decrease customer effort and increase customer loyalty.

Works effectively with corporate peers to ensure operational requirements are understood and effectively resourced.

Provides the leadership to manage projects and daily operations aligned with operational and financial objectives.

Develops appropriate lines of responsibility and approval process for outages to ensure minimal customer impact, and sufficient organizational notification of planned upgrades and outages.

Partners with Corporate Engineering to facilitate successful execution of network design, service delivery, deployment and service assurance of Cox services.

Provides expert guidance and problem resolution to project management teams and creates/implements appropriate Methods and Procedures for network augmentation and maintenance.

Assists in the development of a business continuity plan for system. Leads the execution of plan during BPC events.

Participates as needed on company or cross-functional teams or committees to study and resolve complex network and strategic business problems.

Creates workforce and staffing plans and ensures availability of human capital necessary to accomplish planned business results.

Ensures adherence to all FCC mandated record keeping and operational requirements.

Develops leadership in department, via supervision, management and holding accountability for team members to high standards of operational success.

Participates as an effective, engaged and accountable member of the senior team, with responsibilities to include overall system strategy, operational success and direction.

Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED PREFERRED
Education: Minimum of BS/BA in related field preferred, or substantial cable system certification and/or related telecommunications experience.

Experience:
Minimum 10 years experience in MSO and/or Telecom industry.
Minimum 10 years experience managing capital and operating budgets.
Minimum 10+ years of experience with RF with extensive knowledge of HFC design and access networks including RF/optical combining/splitting infrastructure.
Minimum 5 years experience in Telecommunications.
Strong leadership skills - Demonstrates initiative and innovation in achieving results. Inspires trust in others by demonstrating high ethical standards and personal integrity.
