Vice President Financial Planning and Analysis
This position reports to the Director of Financial Planning Analysis (FPA) and offers the opportunity to provide critical business intelligence for senior management to make sound decisions. By way of first class management reporting, diligent analyses, and strategic modeling, the FIRM’s FPA team delivers timely results and encourages open discussion and creative solutions to improve the quality of our work as the business grows. This position plays a vital role in achieving these goals, and the incumbent should be able to interact with a variety of people, demonstrate flexibility, and be able to meet rapid deadlines.
- Prepare and deliver daily, weekly and monthly management reports to key constituents.
- Manage all aspects of budgeting and forecasting, which includes: the development of baseline assumptions, growth factors, impact of cost savings, and reporting that is suitable for senior management.
- Liaise with front office clients and continuously upgrade reporting standards through the pursuit of continuous process improvement.
- Write commentary that adds value and draws attention to key issues and/or perspectives.
- Establish and report key operating metrics used to drive the business to greater efficiency.
- Build financial models that will empower senior managers to make effective decisions about the firm’s cost base.
- Function effectively in an especially fast-paced operating environment, managing time effectively to address high priority items in a timely manner.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred.
- 5 to 7 years of work experience in a management reporting or similar role.
- Financial Services industry preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint, including intermediate or advanced Excel functions.
- Experience with Hyperion HFM or Essbase financial planning/software.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organization, time management, and oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and critically analyze processes and procedures and push for continuous improvement.
- Function well in a high growth environment/rapidly changing organization.
