Vice President, Global Marketing (medical device industry) Job

The Vice President, Global Marketing reports directly to the President and is an active member of the Executive Committee of the Company. He/she plans, directs, and manages all aspects associated with the global marketing of products, provides leadership and direction to the strategic planning, and is the voice of customer and product portfolio processes. He/she manages strategy development and execution of marketing initiatives through subordinate directors: Product Marketing, Portfolio Management, Marketing Communications, Professional Communications, Practice Development, Professional Education and Market Research.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides executive level support of overall strategic planning process for business; setting performance goals and metrics and collaborating with the Executive team to ensure the company meets or exceed its profit, financial and market share growth objectives.
- Manages the development and execution of global strategic and tactical marketing plans for all products. Creates and manages overall product portfolio strategy and execution.
- Oversees the execution of marketing strategies, plans and programs, both short and long term in alignment with business strategy. Directs the Marketing Department including developing and managing department budgets, developing and refining department policies and procedures; and managing, mentoring and developing organizational resources.
- Works closely with global sales to ensure integration of strategic marketing campaigns and to ensure alignment of resources and programs with the field. Continuously solicits feedback from global sales organization.
- Drives global marketing leadership to develop and execute successful global marketing strategies and programs.
- Organizes Voice of Customer initiatives from mentors, customers, field sales and other sources to ensure accurate information for strategy and business development.
- Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the impact of competitive activity.
- Develops and recommends effective pricing strategies which result in increased market share over the long run and meets our financial objectives.
- Works closely with Research and Development department on portfolio management and business development initiatives.
- Ensures the successful fulfillment of objectives, exercises significant judgment and makes sound decisions in collaboration with other members of the Executive Committee and other cross functional managers.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, processes and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, selection, coaching and optimally developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and motivating employees; and removing barriers to achievement of objectives.
- Ensures effective control of marketing results and takes corrective action when necessary to redirect strategy within designated budgets. Implements swift and decisive procedures to resolve marketing related issues and optimize opportunities.
- Prepares regular marketing reports/presentations including: accomplishments, status of ongoing initiatives; and holds periodic department meetings to ensure communication and alignment of initiatives, information sharing and implementation of best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree (MBA or Master of Science in Marketing) plus ten to fifteen years of demonstrated successful Marketing experience including strategic planning, analysis and product marketing experience and/or equivalent experience.
- Seven to ten years of progressively responsible people management.
- Ten years in the medical device industry required
- 5 years global experience is required, extensive working knowledge of diverse cultures is required and multiple language fluency is desirable.
A market compatible salary in the low to mid-$200Ks plus 50% bonus will be offered. Relocation will be offered.
