VICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCES
We are seeking a Vice President, Human Resources (VPHR) for our corporate headquarters in Irvine, CA. In addition to managing a dynamic team of Human Resources professionals who oversees day-to-day human resources activities, you'll shape and execute global HR strategy for Masimo. We're seeking an impact player -- who is fully aligned with our Guiding Principles -- who can grow alongside us and impact our success story.
The VPHR will design and execute the global people strategy to ensure continued growth is supported. Reporting directly to the COO, the VPHR is a strategic business partner to the leadership team and will lead and direct organizational development, employee retention strategies, labor compliance, talent acquisition and employee development. The VPHR will also lead activities related to performance management, policy and program development, employee relations, compensation and benefits and procedures. There is also a strong focus on ensuring the identification of quality successors to critical management positions and the effective development of the same.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish Masimo’s global Human Resources strategies around all aspects of Human Resources policies, objectives, and initiates. This includes employment, placement, orientation and training, compensation, benefits, employee relations, succession planning and organizational development.
- Review global human resources policies for revision as often as needed based on legal or regulatory conditions impacting human resources policies and talent acquisition; work collaboratively with human resources staff to ensure compliance and all new employees are oriented to the company and its policies.
- Oversee effective recruiting and selection process including recruiting and selection policies, employee on-boarding and new hire orientations to foster positive attitudes toward company goals; and analyze effectiveness of hiring practices, related costs, etc.
- Working with internal and external legal counsel, actively manage all legal issues such as grievances, internal investigations, sexual harassment, workplace harassment, compliance (OFCCP, Affirmative Action, EEOC) and potential liability.
- Conduct wage surveys with relevant labor markets to establish competitive pay ranges.
- Provide guidance to managers and supervisors in the use and application of salary ranges and increase guidelines, job evaluation plans, and interpretation of human resources policies and procedures.
- Review employee changes in status to ensure fair and equitable application of compensation.
- Responsible for employment training, performance evaluation, counseling, and disciplinary issues.
- Ensure the Company’s full compliance with current labor and regulatory requirements. Serve as Company liaison in dealing with governmental agencies and other outside entities.
- Administration of the Company’s benefit plans including 401(k) and group medical. This includes evaluating and suggesting new benefits plans or changes to existing plans.
- Ensure complete and accurate records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Maintain Employee Handbook and other HR policies, updating as necessary to ensure compliance with current requirements.
- Make recommendations policies and practices in accordance with the Company’s goals.
- Oversee the Company’s bi-weekly payroll processing, maintain accurate vacation and sick accruals, and ensure accuracy of payroll and tax reporting.
- Advise management of industry trends and legislative changes affecting human resources programs.
- Analyze cost effectiveness of all programs.
- Prepare and maintain budgets for all activities.
Desired Minimum Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree; MBA, PHR or SPHR Preferred
Desired Training and Experience Required:
- At least Fifteen (15) years of related human resources experience, including five (5) years at the senior management level providing global talent management and organizational development leadership to staff within a technology and manufacturing environment with multiple locations; Demonstrated expertise in a variety of Human Resources concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Extensive background in employment, employment law, organizational development, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training / development.
- Documented success in establishing a Human Resources policy and procedure framework on a global scale.
- Must be results oriented with a positive "can do" attitude and a sense of urgency to get things done. A self-starter who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction.
- Sensitive to the constraints of a “start-up” operation and capable of working effectively in such an environment. Must have flexibility in reacting to new situations and adaptability for working in a new environment.
- Requires exceptional organizational and communication skills. Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective leadership, judgment and interpersonal skills; and the ability to interface with all levels across the entire organization.
