Position Summary
The Vice President of Information Technology and Information Systems is responsible for all aspects of CRFS’ technology infrastructure and ancillary corporate functions as may be assigned. This position will work with executive management to create and execute strategic technology objectives in an efficient and reliable manner. They are responsible for developing, effectively implementing and maintaining creative, leading edge technology solutions, which drive the business and client satisfaction
Essential Duties Responsibilities
· Develop and effectively communicate the IT vision, plans and progress to the Executive Team and appropriate team members.
· Ensure the information technology strategic plans and objectives are responsive to the needs of the company's growth and vision.
· Align IT initiatives with business priorities while balancing resource constraints (human and fiscal) to optimize IT investments.
· Evaluate overall information technology systems and functions, and advise senior management on recommended system conversions, integrations and enhancements.
· Responsibility for the selection, acquisition, development, installation, maintenance and support of information technology for the company.
· Managing, in conjunction with other leaders, the project approval and selection process.
· Ensuring that all technology initiatives have clear business goals and measurable success metrics.
· Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the IT initiatives including actual vs. expected results, budgets and project duration.
Additional Areas of Responsibility include:
· Strategic Planning - Participate in the company's strategic planning process and share in the development of the company’s vision, goals and initiatives.
· Application Architecture and Technology Infrastructure - Understand the application architecture and technical infrastructure of the company's information systems. Regularly assess the company's vision and develop a strategy/action plan for the technical infrastructure and application architecture. The plan shall include standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, software and interconnection of information systems.
· Application Development – Oversee/manage information systems team. Ensure adequate and effective communication between IS and Operations. Accountable for on-time delivery of development initiatives.
· Network Administration - Oversee/manage Network Administration, including: servers, desktop systems, communication systems, hardware/software, and office systems.
· Network Security - Ensure the protection of IT assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained. Ensure CRFS remains ahead of industry regulations and client standards.
· Disaster Recovery - Maintain CRFS business recovery plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of data and IT services in the event of a disaster.
· Compliance - Ensure that the information systems operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards and legal requirements.
· Internal User support - Develop service level agreements and manage to agreed upon performance levels for application availability, response time and network performance.
· Client User Support - Establish and maintain a service orientated, customer focused IT function that supports ongoing operations which drive efficiency, quality, customer service and growth.
· Web strategies and development - Identify and incorporate new web technologies which are interactive, user driven and simple-to-use, to drive revenue and client satisfaction.
· Telecommunications - Directs the telecommunications function, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's voice and data telecommunications system.
· Contract Negotiations - Review and recommend contracts for information technology services and equipment.
· Technology budgets - Develop and manage IT capital and operating budgets.
· Policies and procedures - Establish and maintain operating policies and procedures for information technology.
· Team Leadership and Development - Selection, management, and development of a team of professionals who are accountable for the delivery of all information technology services
· Maintain Technical and Industry Knowledge - Maintain awareness on Information Technology industry trends. Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated and introduced to the company.
Qualifications
The Vice President of Information Technology and Information Systems is a member of the executive management team and, as such, is expected to contribute to the company’s overall growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will be a results oriented leader with diversified experience in Information Technology. They will possess a demonstrable proven track record of managing, maintaining and implementing productivity and service improvements using technology.
This individual will have:
· Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field; Masters Degree in Computer Science and/or MBA preferred
· 10+ years experience in Information Technology, with at least:
o 3-5 years executive level strategic leadership
o 5+ years direct management experience
o 5+ years experience managing client oriented websites
· Demonstrated business savvy to work effectively with other Executives to achieve key business and technology goals.
· Demonstrable track record of managing and sustaining improvements with software development and system performance
· Proven track record of managing a technology budget
· Experience developing/managing the customization, integration, and conversion of information technology infrastructure.
· Broad IT infrastructure and application architecture knowledge.
· Experience in building a new model to serve the IT needs of a growing and change oriented company
· Proven leadership ability to effectively manage a team of IT professionals and contractors.
· Demonstrated project management skills.
· Has handled demanding workloads to meet objectives.
· Telecom experience a plus
· Lean Six Sigma or Balanced Scorecard experience, a plus.
· Financial Services Industry experience a plus
