Responsibilities

Fast-growing, 80-person firm that specializes in servicing planned developments and homeowner associations (communities with 150 or more single-family, townhomes or condominiums) is searching for a senior leader of accounting reporting directly to the CEO.   This is an opportunity for a 7-10 year public/private accountant senior manager (CPA preferred) to join a proven management team to continue the firm’s rapid growth well into the future.

To be successful, the candidate must have:

The ability to work collaboratively and productively with a seasoned team of professional managers to execute the firm’s strategic plan and to solve problems along as the way.

Strong technical accounting skills in all aspects of financial statement preparation, GL, etc. 

Experience overseeing general accounting processes, including AP, AR, billing, collections, 1099, etc. across more than 200 communities and 30,000 homeowner clients.

Significant management experience to scale a department of fifteen people today that is expected to grow to thirty people in the next three-five years.  Proven ability to select and to develop next generation of management talent to provide leverage and to lead functions. 

Evaluating and developing internal policies, procedures and financial controls

A fundamental understanding of what it means to deliver an accounting produce to an external customer rather than a product for internal consumption.

Strong customer service and customer –facing skills

 

Requirements

BS in Accounting

CPA preferred

HOA experience, including Jenark software, a huge plus

7-10 years of experience as a staff accountant

3-5 years as a senior manager leading an entire accounting function

Very conversant and comfortable with technology with experience implementing or transforming accounting systems to meet growing needs of an organization

Energetic leader and self starter with the initiative and drive to make a difference in a fast-growing company

Acquisition and post-merger integration experience desired

Energy-giver with the ability to make people better of any diverse ethnic or cultural background
