Vice President of Advice and Financial Planning recruitment
I. MISSION
Based out of Dallas, TX, the VP of Advice and Financial Planning (VPA) is responsible for the training, sale and implementation of advice for new and existing Partner Firms of United Capital. The VPA will be working directly with our field sales professionals and clients at our regional offices across the country.
The ideal candidate should exhibit excellent sales and communication skills, good judgment, and an ability to take initiative. The ability to effectively interact and train a dynamic and intellectual group who believes in improving not only the client experience, but the employee experience is absolutely critical to this role.
II. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with UC Senior Management to learn our vision of advice
- Train with Sr. VP of Advice on how we position and present advice to potential acquisition’s to UC
- Train with Sr. VP of Advice on how we position and present advice new acquisitions and their clients
- Learn the correct use of UC’s financial planning software and Capital Market Assumptions.
- Training and development of our advice and sales best practices.
- Execute a pro-active approach with client opportunities and identify strategies
- Host periodic training calls with staff across United Capital.
- Work with advisors across the nation on advanced planning and modeling techniques.
- Develop and refine UCFA Advice Client Deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal departments effectively for resolution to outstanding issues.
- Establish a relationship with all of our Advisers and Managing Directors across the country, becoming intimately familiar with the specific requirements for each office in client case preparation
- Assist in the creation, monitoring and updating of advice and financial plans for each of our offices across the country as well as being highly proficient in the technologies and applications used to produce client deliverables
- Identify and assist in the implementation of various opportunities and strategies found while working with our sales professionals and their clients. These would include items such as estate planning, risk management, tax planning, charitable planning and other similar strategies
- Have the ability to articulate recommended strategies both orally and in written form
- Ability to work with clients and our field offices in a virtual setting
III. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Experience and Education:
- A bachelor's degree is required and related work experience
- Must have 5-7 years of experience in the Financial Planning Industry
- Series 65 or 66 is required
- CFP® with Advanced Planning Knowledge
- Training Acumen
- Experience with various financial planning software tools
Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated track record of sales in the financial services space
- Demonstrated analytical ability and good judgment, problem solver, takes responsibility, demonstrates personal integrity, honesty and is able to deal with confidential information on a daily basis
- A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, positive professional attitude and demeanor
- Ability to proficiently work in multiple financial planning applications, as well as Excel based templates and PowerPoint
- Must be able to exercise judgment, tact and diplomacy when dealing with other executives and levels of management
- Excellent customer service and oral and written communication skills
- Professional and articulate with strong attention to detail
