Vice President of Investments Finance recruitment
The Business Finance team is critical to helping senior managers understand the business of investment management at BlackRock. We advise and produce budgets, and short and long range forecasts; create and analyze business metrics and identify cost savings opportunities; deliver economic insight into the relationships between costs and revenues to improve the financial success of the business going forward. We are a valued and critical component of the management function, working at all levels of BlackRock to provide both a broad and deep understanding of the firm's financial position and opportunities.
Business Unit Overview:
The Business Finance organization closely partners with BlackRock's business units with a core focus on analytics, strategic initiatives and forecasting and reporting functions. We create and analyze business metrics and endeavor to deliver timely and value-added economic insight to our business partners.
Job Purpose/Background:
The Portfolio Management Group (PMG) Finance team directly supports the product management and service organization at BlackRock. The role we are hiring for is a Vice President on the PMG Finance team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working and interacting with senior members of the organization in an environment focused on driving constant positive change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in all activities for PMG Finance team, including:
- Participate and/or lead team-wide projects including financial modeling, ad hoc analysis, business economics, etc.
- Understand key revenue drivers and work with business management to optimize organic growth initiatives
- Create a cohesive story around results and communicate results to senior management
- Play leading role in monthly revenue and expense forecasting and reporting
- Participate in annual planning process across cross-functional business and finance teams
- Continuously drive reporting enhancements with forward-looking and insightful analyses
- Be a thought partner for the business to analyze investment in strategic initiatives
Development Value:
This role reports to the Director of PMG Finance, and requires significant interaction with business partners, including the senior management team within PMG and the BlackRock CFO team. The role requires significant interaction with Finance colleagues across BlackRock globally.
Knowledge/Experience:
- A passionate interest in exploring and understanding financial markets and the asset management space

Skills/Qualifications:
- Masters or equivalent degree with strong record of academic achievement
- 6+ years of work-ex in an analytical role supporting Senior Management
- Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding of financial modeling and analytics and/or desire to learn
Competencies:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Able to create good PowerPoint presentations under tight deadlines
- Strong financial acumen and ability to think quickly
- Ability to deliver in fast paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands
- Ability to develop a deep understanding of the business and its key drivers
- Able to work effectively at all levels of an organization and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives in multiple locations
