Vice President of Strategic Accounts Job in Bloomington, Minnesota US
The VP of Strategic Accounts will manage a single highly visible complex, strategic account. The VPSA is responsible for developing and maintaining the strategic relationship in partnership with senior level executives and is directly responsible for client retention, growth and increased profitability of the account. The VPSA leads strategic initiatives, which deliver 'value added' services through the execution of client specific business plans, including leadership of internal cross-functional teams.
Competencies:
Direct strategic, customer specific initiatives, which deliver 'value added' services through the execution of client specific business plans.
Expand account penetration for existing customers.
Coordinate and influence superior customer service delivery by developing and maintaining strong intercompany relationships.
Monitor client financial performance, including renewal planning, negotiation and profitability levels.
Secure new business through marketing and effective product and service expansion.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal partners; ensure Optum senior executive team has customer specific C-Suite contacts.
Demonstrate superior account management and leadership skills through preparation for and leadership of client meetings, strategic approach to client issues and initiatives, and ability to work successfully with all levels of the client and the internal organization.
Stay attuned to local and national market trends as represented by our clients.
Maintain a high level of healthcare industry knowledge as well as customer specific trends
Strong preference to individuals in either Seattle (client location) or Minneapolis (clinical operations site).
- Bachelor's degree or 5 years healthcare sales/account management experience.
- 5 years experience handling complex and difficult accounts.
- 5 years healthcare account management experience in Health Management Solutions (ie: Care Management, Disease Management, Case Management, Wellness)
- 5 years data analytics experience
- 5 years experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite to include word, excel, powerpoint.
- 5 years experience working in partnership with claims, marketing and managed care systems, including HMOs, gatekeeper plans, PPO's, and managed indemnity plans, and other industry payers.
- 5 years experience working in healthcare delivery system.
- Sales insurance license must be maintained as required by state law.
- Must maintains a valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel as required.
