This is a Director level Product/Marketing position, reporting to the CEO. He/she will be the product champion both within and external to the company and will be viewed as the “expert” for accurate and credible information on all products. This individual interacts with operations, sales, purchasing and customers to assure all parties are working together toward a common objective. This is a highly visible position within the company, with significant executive level interaction, both formally and informally. Provide input and develop product business plans and future roadmaps

The Director will oversee support activities for the development of new products including :
• Development of business plans
• PL responsibility for product lines assigned
• Spear head Market research (Supply/Demand side)
• Conduct commercial and technical competitive analysis
• Product life cycle analysis and positioning
• Write and review technical product specs
• Perform ROI Analysis on new product plans
• Research needs and manage product enhancement programs, such as appearance, performance, and packaging improvements. Set quality standards and ensure adherence monitoring is in place.
• Manage new and existing product lines to achieve growth and profitability targets, including SKU rationalization, cost-reduction initiatives, and pricing actions as appropriate. Take ownership for forecasting, service levels, and completion of day-to-day management/communication with other departments.
• Support daily activities on new product launches, product line maintenance, and commercialization efforts on categories such as building material, lumber and custom windows to drive overall business growth.
• Lead cross-functional team (including outside suppliers) for new product/extension development and launches. Includes development of specifications, prototypes, manufacturing techniques, announcement plans, point of purchase info, and sales collateral.
• Drive positioning, advertising, merchandising, and marketing development strategies for architectural product line. Work with internal support teams to execute.
• Act as company expert on competitive product offerings, analyze points of weakness or opportunity, and recommend the client’s response to threats as necessary.
• Manage product line profitability, both in terms of costs and spending, to achieve PL goals.

Product Pricing
Creation and ownership of standard product pricing guidelines. This includes charting competitive pricing and setting recommended pricing, suggested minimum quantities and GM% analysis. Also review and present recommendations and solutions along with a solid business case for justification.

Product Roll out, and customer support
Initiates sales training with our sales reps network and conducts product orientated customer presentations. Supports day to day interaction with our customers and sales team concerning business related issues and concerns. Provides on-site product marketing activities are understood. This includes keeping in close and frequent contact with the appropriate sales managers building customer relationships and loyalty; and looking for ways to help close major opportunities.

Driver within the Product Platform Team
Acting lead role within a multi-disciplinary functional development team. Ability to drive issues with engineering and manufacturing in order to maintain development schedules and budgeted cost targets. Project management coordination. This includes driving products to on-time and professional launches as well as problem solutions/resolution.

Establish and Maintain Competitive Database
Provides regular update to the Company’s competitive database for pricing, technical specifications. Directs with respect to key parameters for strategic products. Provides competitive samples for comparative testing. Understand competitive products through directed research, teardowns, first-hand analysis, etc. Position our own products against the competition. This includes the positioning itself, in addition to the appropriate sales and marketing collateral to allow others to articulate our message without being experts in the field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have 5+ years’ experience in Building Materials and or Lumber industry
Must have previous power supply experience in the Product Manager Role.
Must be well balanced between solid business/marketing sense and the technical aspects of the job.
Strong background with building material, distribution and operations
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Must be exceptionally strong with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Driven self-starter; clear, logical thinker; bright and energetic; attention to detail
Creative individual who loves to take ownership and bring to the table solid solutions
Desirable traits: Hard worker, self-driven, ability to work across a multi-disciplinary team to drive issues to closure
