JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of an independent subsidiary of a major South Korean conglomerate with assets over US$82 billion, this candidate is expected to build a team of highly competent investment professionals to originate, structure and execute renewable energy projects (primarily in Solar PV) with internally deployed equity and debt capital along with funding from external co-equity investors and/or debt providers. We are looking for an experienced professional with a demonstrated track record and solid experience in origination, structuring, negotiation and execution of transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Originate, negotiate and execute energy project financing deals, primarily in Solar PV, through various project financing structures including, but not limited to, project equity and debt financing, partnership flips, and sale-leasebacks.
- Coordinate and work with banks, private funds, JV partners, environmental agencies and regulatory bodies to timely execute projects.
- Liaise with the corporate headquarter and affiliate companies prior to and throughout a deal transaction.
- Lead and manage internal and external teams of legal professionals and financial advisors in the negotiation, drafting, and execution of term sheets, financing documents, commercial contracts and other necessary agreements.
- Manage the formulation of proprietary financial analytics and models.
- Perform other duties as may be necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project finance, structured finance, asset-backed finance, MA, investment banking, securitization and underwriting of large real estate infrastructure projects.
- MBA or Master’s Degree with emphasis in finance or related fields.
- CFA and/or CAIA preferred.
- Prior experience in energy project finance, particularly with Solar PV, preferred.
- Background in Engineering or Physical Sciences is a plus.
