Vice President, Regional Manager
Our wide range of mutual fund and separate account strategies are primarily sold to financial intermediaries across the U.S. While this position can be located anywhere in the territory, we have a strong preference towards Dallas, Houston or Denver. The position will operate remotely.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Vice President is responsible for managing business development opportunities for our ManagersChoice platform, as well as individual mutual fund and separately managed account products. They will also manage and service existing business including, designing, implementing and successfully executing a business model to grow the firm’s assets under management.
ManagersChoice is our unique turnkey mutual fund advisory platform. The VP is responsible for selling investment management services as well as oversight of sales and client relationship management in their territory, which will include developing new business and deepening existing relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design, manage and execute a successful strategy for developing new business relationships in the Independent Broker Dealer marketplace.
- Growing ManagersChoice, mutual fund and SMA product sales and AUM.
- Comfortable with investment and portfolio theory and statistics, able to use this knowledge internally and externally to develop and close business.
- Build a comprehensive range of contacts across multiple functions internally and externally.
- Active influencer who understands decision makers and networks effectively to facilitate success.
- Results driven to meet and exceed the firm’s goals and client expectations
- Maintains full understanding of relevant product resources, investment processes and current strategy, and communicates these points effectively to prospects clients.
- Maintains ongoing contact with significant opportunities and/or prospects via regular mailings, phone and onsite visits.
- Utilizes the company’s CRM system to keep a complete and current list of all activities, meetings, phone calls and interactions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proven record of successful sales expertise in the financial industry.
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of the Independent Broker Dealer marketplace
- Demonstrates an understanding of capital markets both domestic and international across Equity, Fixed Income and alternative investment asset classes..
- Knowledge of the Investment Management Industry and key portfolio management concepts.
- Strong business development skills.
- Intelligent allocation of resources, carefully considering benefit potential to Managers relative to cost (i.e., conferences, travel and entertainment).
- Strong communication, leadership and consensus building skills with a dedicated commitment to professional development.
- Communicates effectively and persuasively with colleagues, clients and brokers.
- Excels in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and executing responsibilities with minimal errors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s preferably in marketing or a finance-related major.
- Five years of combined industry experience in the Independent Broker Dealer marketplace.
- Developed sales capabilities leveraging a fundamentally sound business, financial and economic framework.
- Comfortable working with databases for tracking of business and measurement metrics.
- Series 6 and 65 license.
INDEPENDENT ACTION:
Duties are performed independently, consulting with Channel Sales Director as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive work with computers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Travel requirement of 60-80%
