Vice President – Regulatory Reporting recruitment

Our client, a major bank located in Toronto's Financial District, is hiring a Vice President to join their Regulatory Reporting group. In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight of three direct reports, and you will manage US and Canadian regulatory and financial reporting and the preparation and filing of regulatory reports. In addition, you will be responsible for the preparation of year end audited financial statements, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors, providing guidance on accounting issues and the impacts of new products, and ensuring adherence to US GAAP and IFRS, among other duties. This bank is regulated by OSFI.

To be considered for this role, you must possess a professional accounting designation and at least five years experience in both an accounting firm and a financial services organization focusing on process management and accounting controls. Preference will be given to Chartered Accountant candidates who have worked both for a Big 4 Accounting Firm and a Big 5 Bank. Experience with US GAAP, IFRS, and Basel II are required, and involvement with projects such as reengineering, automation, or process improvements of reporting is considered a strong asset. In addition, knowledge of regulatory requirements for banking products and strong leadership skills are required. Capital Markets and Corporate Banking experience is highly preferred. Requirements:

-Five years Regulatory Reporting Experience gained through experience working for both a Big 4 Accounting Firm and a Big 5 Bank.
-A Professional Accounting Designation
-Knowledge of the regulatory requirements for banking products
-Experience in preparation of audited year end financial statements
-Strong leadership and mediation skills
-IFRS, US GAAP, and Basel II experience and a background working alongside regulators
-Capital Markets and Corporate Banking experience is highly preferred
