HSS includes complex accounting, valuation and web-based investor services for traditional funds, hedge funds, fund of funds and private equity funds; trustee and depositary services; performance consultancy services to institutional and corporate clients worldwide as well as cash management, foreign exchange, securities lending, corporate trusteeship, issuing and paying agency services, management and corporate secretarial, compliance and regulatory reporting.
Principal Accountabilities
Reporting into Head of Sales Business Development, the incumbent will expected to be Asset Management and Insurance sector specialist. S/he will be required to plan, direct and control all aspects of the sales and account management process in order to achieve and expand new revenue for the Fund Services business.
- Coordinate and manage the sales process from initial meeting to the commencement of relationship including preparation of term sheets, mandate letters, fee proposals, pitch materials and RFPs
- Constantly engage existing clients to maintain/build stronger client relationships and to identify new business opportunities.
- Solicit/Identify new client group and work closely with other HSBC departments, particularly the Financial Institutions group of HSBC to seek new opportunities and new client while focusing on institutional fund managers and insurance companies.
- Expand revenue base by Identifying FX and other Bank cross sell opportunities
- Review client profitability and trends and identify new engine of growth for Fund Services business
- Coordinate with different HSS departments to seek and offer a comprehensive solution to clients.
- Conduct service review in conjunction with client services team to ensure/improve service delivery
- Work closely with business implementation and transaction management team to ensure smooth implementation of all new business; appropriate KYC and approval processes are carried out
- Ensure compliance with all Group standards, manuals and guidelines
Skills/Attributes
- University Graduate with 6 – 8 years of fund/custody sales relationship management experience
- Candidate with no relevant fund or custody experience has to be in Sales and Relationship Management function with min. working experience of no less than 10 years.
- Previous operational experience in fund administration services preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in fund services or custody sales or a related product discipline
- A track record of cultivating strong team morale and building strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Good presentation skills; able to work independently under pressure of competing deadlines
