Job Description
The role is for a position within the Global Markets Middle office and Operations Technology team to develop equities middle office and back office platform for Japan business. The candidate in future will be responsible for the development of the strategic platform used by many lines of business (Equity, Fixed Income, Credit, Mortgages etc) . The team looks after all the shared infrastructure used by each Line of Business.
Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for developing post trade platform for Japan business. Activities will include
- Define architecture and choose appropriate technology stack (existing vs. new) for implementation of new platform
- Design and development of message based applications, on-going maintenance, release and deployments
- Capacity reviews (ensure applications and hardware are correctly sized for sudden increase in business volumes),
- Work closely with the global teams on application changes and provide specifications for development work done by global teams
- Communicate technology programs to stakeholders · Identify and pursue opportunities for simplifying the delivery of technology while balancing speed to market and risk factors
Requirements
- 10-15 years front /middle office development experience in a leading role
- Working knowledge of Japan Equity/ Fixed income markets
- Highly organized, ability to handle multiple work streams simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- In-depth experience of Unix/Linux environment
- Advanced knowledge C++, shell scripting and Perl (Python a plus)
- Advanced knowledge of Sybase
- Knowledge of Equity Transaction management and settlements for Japan market a plus
- Deep understanding of infrastructure (hardware) components, networking
