The Position:
The Vice President of Surgical Services directs, supervises and coordinates all personnel and activities in all assigned areas. These areas include, but are not limited to, 50 operating rooms, Surgical Reprocessing, PACU, Same Day Services and Outpatient Surgical Services. These services are housed at three locations including the St. Vincent's Birmngham, the North Tower and OrthoSports Center that houses 12 state-of-the-art operating suites designed specifically for orthopedic surgeries. The VP will serve as a member of the hospital’s Senior Leadership Team and will consult and advise the President and Chief Operating Officer on issues relating to the operation of the hospital. This position also participates in assessing the environment, forecasting trends, transmitting values, communicating ideas, developing and implementing policies, managing and initiating systems and programs while providing personnel with leadership, decision-making and direction in defined areas.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Vice President or Director of perioperative services. A nursing license in the state of Alabama or eligible is required. The successful candidate will have master’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business or related field.
