VICEPRESIDENT OF FINANCE
Our Client, a start-up Energy Services company, is looking for a VP Finance to join its team. This role would report into the CFO and the company needs someone who is ambitious, growth orientated but who can handle everything in starting a new company. There will be a strong mix of transactional accounting responsibilities as well as strategic responsibilities. The chosen candidate will be of the mind set to come in and do everything while they grow and get to the point where further hires are warranted.
Your daily responsibilities will include the following
- Manage the accounting department (credit and collections, billings, accounts payable, treasury and administrative functions)
- Manage the day to day accounting operations, bank reconciliations, chart of accounts and financial and operating metrics reporting in relation to overall corporate cash flow and operating results
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement preparation including the preparation of MDA and financial analysis, compliance and other duties as required
- Manage the annual audit requirements
- Lead the building and documentation of accounting policies and procedures, IFRS research and maintenance
- Lead the establishment of corporate cost controls and systems for ensuring accountabilities
- Manage the sub ledger and general ledger, as well as maintain key accounts and perform reconciliations
- Manage all aspects of tax reporting and remittance (using external parties as necessary)
- Assist the CFO with cash flow requirements
- Support the executive team with the business planning process including the annual and quarterly forecasts
- Support the executive team with MA review and analysis
- Support the executive team with board of director reporting
- Ensure data integrity and appropriate report generation from ERP system
- Provide any ad hoc reporting and other special projects as requested
The chosen candidate will have ALL of the following qualifications
- Must hold a valid CMA or CA designation
- Must have US GAAP experience and working IFRS experience
- Must have at least 10 years senior experience in Oilfield Services
- strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP software
- Proven track record, progression and performance
- Significant experience in developing and implementing corporate level cost control programs and accounting policies and procedures
- strong interpersonal, communication and decision making skills
- Team oriented, results driven and hands on approach
- Must have Mergers and Acquisition experience (initial analysis through business integration)
This position is offering a strong base salary- $125-150,000 per annum to start as well as an above average bonus program and incentive plan.
