Job Summary
We are currently searching for a Virtualization – Senior Technical Consultant Engineer who is a technical professional possessing in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise with the majority of Citrix, VMware and Microsoft’s virtualization products/solutions. We have positions available in South Florida as well as Tampa Bay. This position will be responsible for recommending, some designing, implementing, and supporting Virtualized solutions that can include Servers, Desktops (VDI) and Applications to Bayshore’s customer base with minimal supervision. This position requires experience dealing directly with customers, sometimes in a stressful situation where providing technical accuracy, courteous and professional responses in a timely manner is essential. The Virtualization – Senior Technical Consultant Engineer is a critical member of the Technical Services senior team and reports to the management of the Technical Services department. This is an exempt, professional, technical position and the ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of related experience.
· Advanced troubleshooting experience including root cause analysis.
· Proven track record of meeting deadlines along with associated deliverables.
· Strong analytical skills and experience in applying these skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and ability to foster / manage relationships across internal staff and customers.
· Excellent communication skills delivered through effective oral and written communication, including technical documentation.
· Ability to translate and communicate technical features and concepts into tangible customer business benefits.
· Travel will be required in the geography daily, and outside of the geography approximately 35%.
· Due to the nature of the work performed, will require some after-hours and weekend work.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Must have 5 – 7 years industry experience including; designing, building, and managing complex Virtualized Infrastructures.
· Must have at least one or more ADVANCED Citrix certification, VMware and Microsoft is a plus.
· Demonstrated experience with Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, Web Interface / CSG / CAG, XenServer, EdgeSight. Experience with NetScalers is a plus. Must have experience with the installation and support of large Citrix Farms and multiple sites.
· Must also have experience with Citrix patching and roll-ups. Strong Experience with Application, Customization and Packaging Citrix applications, Terminal Services.
· Experience with build-out and provisioning of Servers in a VMware or XenServer environment including Provisioning Server and Application/Desktop streaming is a big plus.
· Ability to quickly design, implement and support Proof of Concept’s (POC’s) with Citrix XenApp and/or XenDesktop and related products in either a Virtualized or Physical environment.
· Direct experience with Server Virtualization with VMware VSphere and/or Citrix XenServer. Additional experience with any other VMware suite of products is desirable, including DRS or SRM.
· Strong technical knowledge of capabilities or direct experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2 and Exchange 2010. Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory including OU design and administration, GPOs, and site to site replication is desired.
· Additional knowledge or experience with any other Microsoft products is desirable.
· Direct experience with the HP line of hardware from Servers to Desktops is required. Experience with HP Blades and SAN’s is desirable as is knowledge of the IBM and Dell lines of hardware.
· Must have a basic knowledge of Wide Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP and general networking.
· A solid understanding of VLAN’s and VPN’s is required.
· Must have a basic knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, SAN, NAS).
Additional Desired Skills/Experience:
· NetScaler or any Load Balancer appliance/software experience.
· Any VDI experience including Citrix XenDesktop and VMware View
· Any experience with Microsoft App-V
· General knowledge of capabilities or direct experience with Cisco, Palo Alto and Watchguard Firewalls and/or Cisco/HP Routers is desired.
Educational Requirements:
· One or more advanced Citrix certifications are required.
· AS/Technical Degree or equivalent is required.
· Bachelor's degree is a plus.
· One or more non Citrix certifications including VMware, Microsoft, Cisco or Security is a plus.
