 Purpose of Role:
The Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for the creation and implementation of the visual merchandising plan and strategy for all flagship and core MM's World stores globally.  This includes plans for floor sets, store layouts, and window displays that will drive sales and earnings.  The position will also be responsible for creating and defining the company's visual merchandising standards and creating processes to ensure these standards are maintained and brand synergy is upheld. 
 
 
Principal Accountabilities:
 
Creative Vision
·         Create visually appealing floor sets and window displays that represent the MM's brand standard of "Big, Bold, and Branded".
·         Conceptualize new stores merchandise plans internationally, including store layout, space planning, store set up, and prep for openings.
·         Partner on the design and function of the store and fixtures.
·         Responsible for sourcing props and fixtures that elevate the store and enhance the brand and experience.
 
 
Strategy Development

·         Develop and communicate vision and strategy for store visual designs and future direction of visual merchandising to support our brand standard of "Big, Bold, and Branded".

·         Develop and maintain visual guidelines manual and ensure consistent and timely execution at stores.
·         Develop annual merchandising plans to support product launches, promotions and seasonal product introductions.
·         Have a fluent understanding of seasonal design direction, product trends and development themes, as well as fixture needs and development.
·         Research best practices within competitors and stay abreast of innovations and developments in visual merchandising. Apply learnings to MM World's visual standards.
·         Work with cross-functional (Marketing and Merchandising) teams on all new product launches to ensure a singular vision.
 
Execution of Strategy
·         Communicate and ensure execution of all visual merchandising concepts consistent with the "Big, Bold, and Branded" brand and specific store trends and needs.
·         Lead the coordination and execution of new stores, renovations, promotions and seasonal sets in collaboration with cross functional teams.
·         Guide the merchant teams for strategic product placement and fixture productivity in support of sales and profit goals.
·         Identify areas of opportunity and address unique merchandising challenges specific to store locations.
·         Be the owner of the floorplans for each location and update planograms and adjacencies seasonally.
·         Monitor KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) and initiate actions or changes with cross-functional teams to adjust the visual merchandising strategy accordingly.
·         Manage visual budget.  Monitor and control costs/expenses, reducing spend where applicable.
 
Training
·         Lead the design and implementation of specialized training for associates focused on merchandising and presentation standards.
·         Participate in floor moves with store teams to ensure that final presentation is consistent with company standards.
·         Create and maintain visual standards guidelines on the Mars Retail Group intranet.
