VMWARE Technical Consultant

 

Market leading, niche, virtualization Consultancy requires an experienced VMware Consultant to join their professional, fun, fast paced, and rapidly expanding organisation.

This is an opportunity to focus on very challenging, very diverse high end virtualisation projects. The company's primary focus is within FTSE, banking/financial, engineering, large public sector organisations.

 

Essential Skills Experience:

·         Delivering server, desktop and or application virtualisation solutions

·         Assisting the discovery and assessment phases

·         Contributing to high-level designs, which support robust technology solutions, taking into account the user requirements, technical requirements, etc.

·         Implementing virtualisation solutions from pre-defined designs, install guides and project plans

·         Following technology architecture and infrastructure detail design guides

 

Desirable:

·         VCP accredited (minimum VI3 or ideally vSphere).

·         VMWare, Microsoft Citrix virtualisation technologies are becoming more prevalent so any exposure to the following is a big plus; VMWare; Vsphere, vCenter, View, ThinApp, Citrix; XenApp, XenDesktop, Microsoft; Hyper-V, etc.

·         Good understanding and knowledge of virtualisation solutions.

·         Able to contribute to a team-oriented environment

·         Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

·         All candidates must be willing to be EMEA based, but offer full mobility (i.e. prepared to work away from home Monday to Friday as required)

 

Role Responsibilities:

Projects tend to be 1-3 months in duration; duties vary across pure delivery through to presales / discovery / strategy guidance, delivery type projects.

Note that projects tend to be UK wide and often across the EMEA region thus your full mobility will be required.

 

Package:

Circa £30-45k basic salary.

Performance related bonus.

30 days annual leave.

Fully covered expenses- travel costs, accommodation, food allowance etc when working away from home.

Company Laptop, 3G dongle mobile phone provided.

 

This role represents a significant opportunity to make a name for yourself with one of the most well-known brands in the virtualisation space. It's also a key learning opportunity, e.g. an onsite lab environment you can fully utilise, plus you will have access to various in-house developed tools via exposure to large projects. Additionally our client are regularly invited to beta programmes meaning you will experience new virtualisation technologies much earlier than the rest of the market. Where your current skill set has a gap, and meets business justification, our client will also sponsor training, e.g. CCA, additional vSphere accreditations, etc.
