Job Description Res ponsible for the recruitment, development, retention and recognition of both adult and youth volunteers in the Southwest Florida Chapter. Serves as a resource and mentor to Branch staff on volunteer issues; acts as an advocate for all volunteers. Works with the Office of Volunteers and other specialists to develop programs that will strengthen our volunteer base across the chapter through a collaborative effort. Responsibilities A . Coordinate with the Chapter Manager to develop and implement plans and strategies for the recruitment, training, placement and, retention of sufficient volunteers to meet or exceed Chapter Performance Standards and to provide effective support to Hillsborough Branch activities in conjunction with other functional department and Branch Staff B. Responsible for all aspects of Volunteer Human Resources to include approved events, language bank, planned volunteer intake procedures, teaching orientations, coordinated retention programs, database management, awards and recognition and associated events. C. Along with the Manager of Volunteer Programs Services, develop and sustain positive relationships with other local organizations involved in volunteer development. D. Acquire sufficient and appropriate disaster training to enable support of ongoing disaster response activities. E. In conjunction with appropriate volunteer staff and employees, ensure a process of timely approved communication to all volunteers in the assigned area. F. Responsible for timely and accurate data input of volunteer activity in the assigned area; ensure all reports are accurate and are completed and submitted within established timelines. Other Dimensions A. As a contributor to the work of an emergency relief organization, extended work hours and/or assignments to a disaster/emergency-specific task will be required. Maintaining membership in the DSHR system is required. B. Primary location is the Manatee offices with some occasional local travel. Experience: A minimum of two years experience in volunteer administration required. Other: Must have good interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, planning and problem solving skills and initiative to work effectively with minimal supervision. Raiser's Edge experience a plus.
