POSITION OVERVIEW:
MSCI’s ISS Governance Services division, the world's leading provider of proxy voting and corporate governance solutions, is immediately seeking to grow its Voting Business team in Beijing, China. Successful candidates will have a business or financial background, strong technology skills and exhibit a passion for the governance business. They should also have proven abilities to develop strong working relationships with their peers, learn ISS products and leverage technology to solve problems.
Objectives:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the proxy voting process in China
- Act as a trusted resource in problem resolution for internal and external clients
- Serve as a domain expert on internal Voting applications, custodian and client support processes
- Achieve target turnaround times
- Drive revenue growth through outstanding service
- Expand and improve on internal and external client relationships
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and Manage processes that maintain and manage mission critical data for the proxy voting, proxy distribution, or security class action claims filing services in China.
- Serve as a subject matter expert with regards to the process flow of proxies and any custodian specific issues.
- Represent ISS Governance Services to clients during due diligence visits, renewal review meetings, and issue resolution sessions.
- Work with clients, custodians and others to answer questions and ensure successful issue resolution regarding the recon, proxy flow, and custodian account setups.
- Develop strong relationships with both internal teams and external constituents.
- Develop and Review production and timeliness reports and work to implement continuous process improvement and internal controls on mission critical data.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators that are critical to achieving team goals and performance objectives.
- Sponsor teamwork and employee development by initiating and supporting cross- functional initiatives on a regular basis.
- Participate in the annual client renewal process through account and process reviews.
- Maintain data to ensure quality of mission critical information using both proprietary applications and commonly used business software applications.
- Work with account managers and client implementation to ensure that required client data is received in a timely and high quality manner.
- Ensure comprehensive audit trails are in place for data that is received from or sent to production systems.
- Establish and monitor quality control metrics to identify potential data issues and taking ownership of resolution for all issues that are identified.
- Support development of training documentation, standard procedures and systems to support growing team
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong background in the securities industry in China with several years worth of work experience in this field
- Excellent oral and written communications (fluent in English is a must)
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
- Strong computer skills with office applications
- Team player and an excellent relationship builder
- Demonstrated analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated Project Management skills – defining of scope, resources and time lines, and managing to deliverables
- Innovative, motivated, client-oriented and commercially-aware thinker
- Absolute personal and business integrity
