VP Anti Bribery & Corruption

Universal Banking Group Global FCC function is expanding its EMEA ABC capabilities.

The main focus of this position is to own the roll out of the ABC framework across the EMEA region- with a specific focus on Investment banking Wealth Management.

Specifically
• Assisting in the business implementation of the ABC framework.
• Owning the risk appetite and setting the boundaries in accordance with the Group ABC policy.
• Horizon scanning / identifying ABC trends monitoring of Management Information, risk events and monitoring outcomes across the Regional businesses and raise these to the Senior Management agenda;
Taking responsibility for the oversight of ABC Projects;
• Acting as a trusted Advisory Partner to the Regional businesses on ABC risk mitigation and control management with respect to gifts entertainment, introducers, associated parties, connected hires, community investments and strategic transactions (e.g., ABC DD for MA transactions); this will include handling advisory requests escalated to Financial Crime Compliance from functional teams including

Product/country compliance and business coverage, Sourcing, Human Resources and Community Investments;
• Leading ABC Risk Assessment process;
• Representing Financial Crime at key senior business forums, influencing to ensure a clear visibility and understanding of ABC related issues, trends and horizon risks affecting Regional businesses;
• Building and develop key stakeholder relationships to include cross-jurisdictional and Regional Partners including functional Financial Crime and Compliance teams, business units, sourcing, Human
Resources and Community Investments;
• Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all ABC reporting, including supporting the Regional ABC Head in the delivery of periodic MLRO reports;
• Delivery of closure of all relevant audit / monitoring and testing points;
• Analysing KRIs to give the Regional EME FinCrime Head and Global ABC Head a holistic overview of the effectiveness of the ABC framework;
• Supporting AML and Sanctions colleagues in implementing a robust Financial Crime framework;
• Supporting the Regional ABC Head; keeping them informed and escalating issues where appropriate;
• Driving progress in the function, embed a financial crime compliance culture and ensure consistency of implementation;
• Leading ABC training and communication tasks;
• Reviewing and maintaining up to date training and awareness programmes

Qualifications

• Proven technical expertise in the field of Financial Crime and, ideally, ABC;
• Proven experience of working across teams and able to contribute to the strategic direction of a business
• Able to deliver as a senior individual contributor, through influence and not through direct ownership or large resources
• Skilful co-ordination in working across a wide range of stakeholders both within and beyond the function
• Excellent written and spoken communications skills
• Politically astute and able to understand the dynamics of large, complex organisations; skilled in matrix working
• Good relationship and excellent stakeholder management skills both across teams and upwards throughout organisations (particularly those that operate complex matrices)
• Highly organised and structured
• Experience of working within a highly regulated environment along with a sound understanding of the current environment and key issue within financial services.
• Experience in delivering structured project and programme management. Including managing the operational aspects of a department.
