Overview:

GTB's Strategy and Business Development mission is to provide strategic, analytical, structuring and coordination support to the GTB Executive Committee and other GTB senior managers. The team focuses on Profit and Loss (PL) critical projects/objectives with respect to the development, execution and monitoring of GTB's global, regional, product and client strategies, the optimization of GTB's structure/governance, business and operating models and coordination/execution of related initiatives. Additionally, the team serves as a key point of contact for non-GTB stakeholders with respect to the above and to drive CIB-wide understanding of GTB and its environment.

The team has three pillars of focus:
*Market and Competitor Analysis
*Organic Strategy and Business Development
*Inorganic Strategy and Business Development
In addition to the three pillars, the team has two additional dimensions of focus:
*Product: Trade Finance and Cash Management Corporates (TF/CMC), Trust and Security Services (TSS), Cash Management Financial Institutions (CMFI)
*Region: Americas, Asia Pacific (APAC), Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) (including Germany)

Key Responsibilities:
You will be focused on supporting two primary areas:
*Trade Finance and Cash Management Corporates' global organic strategy and business development
*GTB's global inorganic strategy and business development and TSS/CMFI's global organic strategy and business development (when capacity is available).

1.)Trade Finance and Cash Management Corporates - Organic Strategy and Business Development
You will become an integral part of the core TF/CMC management support team, focused on the development and coordination of TF/CMC's six strategic development areas: Cash Management Strategy, Trade Finance Strategy, Global Network Banking Strategy, Emerging Markets Strategy, Risk and Portfolio Management Development and Personnel Development, each of which is sponsored by one Executive Committee Member.
*You will work with the TF/CMC Executive Committee members on driving their respective strategic development areas
*You will support regional business portfolio reviews (deep dive analysis of each regions primary businesses - qualitative 3-year strategy, risk/reward profiles, Mergers and Acquisitions opportunities, competitor overview and more)
*You will support / Coordinate 'Brownfield Expansion' plans into new geographies
*You will support the Global Head of TF/CMC in various initiatives / strategic needs (for example preparing him for meetings with Deutsche Bank's Co-CEO on a quarterly basis)
*You will support the TF/CMC COO and Global Head of Strategy in strategic financial planning process to ensure alignment with global strategy
*You will assess and Monitor success of ongoing large-scale strategic projects (for example ongoing 'Industrialization' of Global Transaction Banking - building GTB into a scale business via various product, process and client rationalisation initiatives)
*You will act as a sounding board for key strategic topics - investments, client strategies, regional development plans, etc
*You will train colleagues / summer interns

2.)GTB Global Inorganic Strategy and Business Development
*You will support various Inorganic Strategy and Business Development projects - namely, assessing new targets, running sell-side processes, completing/coordinating due-diligence on acquisition targets, updating an ongoing 'acquisition short list', and assessing any investment case brought to the GTB Investment Committee (for example New Country Expansion, Equity Investments, Capital Injections, Acquisitions, Divestitures).

You will have:
*Experience of Investment Banking / Consulting / Commercial Banking experience (Client Facing/ Profit and Loss responsibilities, Senior Management Support preferred)
*Must have strong analytical skills and deductive reasoning capabilities (Case study will be given in interview process)
*Must be comfortable with working independently and presenting/interacting with senior level management
*Working knowledge of Corporate and Financial Institution client buying behaviour and strategic needs
*Strong understanding of Financial Sector and implications of market dynamics on the future of the Investment/Commercial Banking sector (for example BASEL III, Financial Crisis, and other things)
