VP / AVP, Trade Operations (Section Manager), Technology & Operations recruitment
Group Technology and Operations (TO) enables and empowers our Bank with an efficient, nimble, scalable standard infrastructure through a strategic focus on Productivity, Quality Control, Operating Models, Technology and People. In Group TO, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Responsibilities
- To lead, motivate, provide guidance and training to staff to ensure business goals are met.
- To ensure team meets and delivers Department’s operating budget.
- To be responsible for the team meeting the Department’s goals of cost management, quality and risk control.
- To manage/improve and ensure the constant good working relationship with internal customer segments and support their initiatives to enhance revenue stream.
- To offer suggestions for process improvement and act as communication channel between Management and staff.
- To provide direction by setting performance targets for staff and monitor actual performance against targets.
- To keep abreast of developments in ‘competitor’ banks and share best practices with staff.
- To ensure compliance with statutory rules and compliance with internal policies and guidelines.
- To work with BU and Credit in order to set up customer’s facility summary and control sheet.
- To establish the control functions, address the root causes and obtain the necessary approval to ensure effective end to end monitoring and risk free.
- Achieve the defined KPIs.
- To achieve cost reduction from budgetary plan / reduce unit cost by constantly reviewing and improving work processes.
- To deliver efficient and good quality products and services to internal and external customers in accordance with the services standards established with respective BU/SU.
- To maintain/further improve the good working relationship with internal customers through regular dialogues. Support and implement their initiatives to improve revenue stream for Trade.
- To improve and enhance the knowledge, understanding and quality of staff
- Identify weak performers for training, counseling to improve their performance and quality, and for outplacement if necessary.
- Ensure staff achieve target number of training days per staff per year.
- Conduct weekly team meetings to share the weekly metrics, for staff to share suggestions and build rapport.
- Coach, motivate and lead staff to give their best.
- To ensure compliance of system and control procedures in line with internal procedures, policies and guidelines:
- Review and ensure the operation procedures according to all CORS, MASt’s guidelines and policies.
- BCP are updated and DRP/BCP are tested at least once per year.
- Ensure controls are in place
- Achieve at minimum ‘satisfactory’ rating by Group Audit and external Audit in their annual audit.
- To visit external customers independency or jointly with customer segments / Relationship Manager of IBG if required.
- To provide expertise advice on design and implement the appropriate technology for the tracking and monitoring of transactions.
Requirements
- ‘A’ Level / Diploma Degree holders.
- Minimum 5 years experience in banking operations or relevant experience.
- Capable to meet SLA / tight deadlines and perform efficiently under pressure with master level of proficiency in leadership, problem solving, developing and coaching, communication, teamwork, planning and organizing.
- To contribute to the long term growth of DBS.
- Good communication skills. Ability to read write in English and Mandarin.
- In-depth trade product knowledge and operation experience.
- Sound people and project management skills.
- In-depth knowledge on trade rules and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge on statutory rules and regulations.
- Strong risk and fraud awareness.
- Good PC skills and knowledge.
