VP Balance Sheet Analytics recruitment

Our client, one of the largest and most prestigious investment banks in Europe, currently seeks a VP-level Financial Controller to support the rates and commodities businesses, to be based in the City of London.

The Financial Controller will be part of the commodities and rates area that deals with counterparty risk mitigation, fund of hedge funds, and risk syndication. In this challenging role you will be part of a small team with the mission to protect and create value across the firm. Responsibilities include:
-Impact Regulatory changes on the balance sheet
-Understand impact of IFRS changes, and help suggest strategies for minimising impact on business model
-Development of weekly balance sheet flash to include attribution and commentary
-Banking book vs. trading book review
-IFRS7 level 3 assets review
-Enhanced reporting
-Validation and control
-Stale position/liquidity review
-Planning and forecasting

To be successful at this global rates and commodities VP role, it is expected that the candidate possesses the following skills and experience:
-Financial control experience
-Strong balance sheet analytics experience
-Experience of rates, commodities, and RMBS products
-Strong financial control or regulatory reporting background
-Proven leadership and influencing skills
-Strong oral and written communication skills
