VP, Business Analysis / Project Manager (Ref Data) recruitment
The role is within a change team responsible for the complete transformation of the reference data and data warehousing from the business point of view. This is a build out of a new programme in its infancy; this role will give the successful candidate involvement in planning and scoping of his programme, which is well funded and across the entire bank.
This role and the team will:
- To analyse and document key finance data elements currently used to produce the financial and management reports.
- To identify and document data sources/producers, interfaces and the associated processes required to support the key finance data elements, including assessment of criticality, priority and frequency.
- To identify the strategic “golden sources” for key finance data elements and establish clear standards on data acquisition, storage and delivery to meet reporting requirements.
- To understand the strategic Finance Target Operating and Data model and align data requirements to arrive at a common strategic finance data architecture and roadmap
- To develop business requirement documents based on the data analysis and input from the Finance Data Standards project (FDS) based of the data requirement documents (DRDs)
- To understand the data requirements and develop a set of selection and evaluation criteria for a RFI/RFP to source and implements a central Finance Reference Data repository (RDM)
- To assist in the management of the RFI/RFP including selection of the RDM
- To assist in the development and implementation of a Target Operating Model for Finance Reference Data and ensure that it aligned with the strategic Enterprise Data Management (EDM) programme
- To support the of Head, FT Reference Data Projects to deliver the Project Approval Request (PAR) and subsequent delivery of the execution phase
Impact Areas
• Deliver against the established defined set of data Entities and Finance data elements
• Define clear set of golden sources from which the key finance data elements should be acquired from, including interface, transformation, and storage and delivery service standards to be complied with.
• Define RDM repository for the central storage and sourcing of key finance data elements
• Define clear ownership, workflows and governance for maintenance the of the finance data infrastructure in the BAU environment.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
• Understanding of Financial, Market and Credit Risk data infrastructure and models, its use and maintenance as pertaining to the Financial Services Industry
• Highly analytical in approach with practical knowledge of data repository its management including controls aspects, including data quality and master data management
• Previous project and/or operational management experience in delivering enterprise data model or golden source reference data solutions
• Delivery of high quality work, in a limited amount of time
• Excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills
• High levels of drive and self motivation
• Pragmatic approach to achieving the objectives set, able to flex an approach as needed
• Track record of working in a very organised way, multi-tasking, prioritising, managing data, and setting and achieving deadlines (both short and long term)
• Capacity to think creatively and laterally; excellent reasoning skills and the ability to make sound judgments
Desirable
• Strong team player, but also able to work independently
• Operational experience in managing reference data maintenance and support teams
• Good working knowledge in MS Visio and Project
• Core Financial management reporting knowledge and sound knowledge of financial controls and processes
• Project Management Certification
• Financial Services Data Model knowledge / expertise.
• Degree in Accounting or Information Management
