VP, Buyside Sales and Account Management recruitment

Sales Account Management is a key function within Markit and is responsible for client-facing activity including co-ordination of sales coverage to maximise cross-selling opportunities; contract renewals; roll-out of new products via beta testing and overall business development.    

The successful candidate must have a proven track record and have the ability to  sell Fixed Income products including Desktop/Quotes, CDS data, RED, Valuation products, Evaluated Bonds and Index products (iBoxx, CDX, iTraxx data).

Duties and Accountabilities

All aspects of business development for the client segment. The candidate will be the main driver of revenue acquisition for their specialist product line and will ensure that the business goals are achieved. The candidate will be integral to the team structure – working closely with the Heads of Sales, Regional Managers and Sales support. Specifically these include:

• Generation of lead pipeline for new business and existing clients

• Assistance in the budgeting process

• Creating client strategy coordinating with European fund admin sales and account management

• Cross selling other product lines.

• Identify the client needs and feedback to relevant product groups.

• Reporting of actual Vs budgeted sales on a regular basis

• Assistance in the hiring process

• Assistance in the implementation of all marketing related activities which would include: conference /sponsorship participation, sales collateral production, client entertainment; association memberships

• Relationship maintenance and development with key relationships

• Working with product/sales groups in the execution of contracts

• Renewal of existing contracts

• Strategic work and thinking with client base to identify new initiatives and partnership opportunities

• Coaching and helping to build the sales skills/ product knowledge of junior members of the team

Education and Experience

• Years of experience 5-8

• Broad based experience with another market data vendor or investment bank at a senior level with exposure to managing complex relationships and/or process’s

• Knowledge and experience of capital markets and especially OTC derivatives and/or structured credit

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong inter-personal and influencing skills

• Specific experience in covering this client base will be a big advantage
