VP-Compliance Audit
Applicant must be a mature and experienced professional who possesses excellent knowledge of regulation and compliance within wholesale banking businesses, good knowledge of financial instruments and products, and a strong understanding of internal control systems within a financial institution. This individual should be knowledgeable of wholesale banking products and related regulation, in particular within markets trading businesses and/or Treasury Services. In this role, the individual will be exposed to audits across the wholesale lines of business in addition to other operational support functions as required.
Responsibilities:
* Self-motivated professional who effectively analyses risk and proactively identifies issues
* Assess the regulatory control environment of our CIB businesses, with a view to providing recommendations to management for improvement where weaknesses are identified
* Be able to lead and execute audits independently and efficiently, including risk assessment, audit planning, testing, control evaluation, report drafting and follow-up and verification of issue closure. Ensure audits are completed timely and within budget
* Identify risks and prioritize audit work as part of a risk based audit program in close partnership with the wider audit team
* Keep abreast of evolving regulatory changes and market events impacting the wholesale businesses and ensure appropriate audit coverage of regulatory compliance matters
* Flexible and adaptable to dynamically changing work environments, including some travel to other countries as part of regional audit engagements
* Communicate audit results and issues effectively, both verbally and in written form
* Manage relationships with key stakeholders in the CIB and Compliance organisations
Qualifications:
Requirements:
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
* Other relevant professional qualifications, e.g. CPA, CAMS, considered an advantage
* At least 6-8 years' audit or relevant compliance/regulatory experience, within a financial services organisation, major accounting firm or regulatory body
* Excellent knowledge of Singapore regulations and key industry issues themes (e.g. anti-money laundering, sanctions, KYC, outsourcing, technology risk management); knowledge of other Asia Pacific regulatory environments considered an advantage
* Good understanding of internal control concepts within wholesale banking businesses
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enthusiastic, self motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability, strong ability to multi-task
* Ability to lead audits, manage projects and participate in audit assignments in a team environment
* Works well individually and in teams, shares information and supports colleagues
* Ability to travel within the Asia region (up to 20%)
* Strong Excel, Access or ACL skills considered a plus
