VP Compliance Monitoring Manager – Europe
A group function of a global bank is looking to strengthen their Monitoring and Testing team and are hiring for a VP to assist in the co-ordination, overseeing and carrying out of compliance monitoring activities within the group in-country teams across the Europe region in order to ensure that Monitoring standards meet the Group’s Global Standard and the expectations of key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
-Ensure local monitoring activities are in accordance with Global monitoring policies and conducted as a second line of defence.
-Ensure local monitoring activities provide adequate coverage of the Group’s key regulatory risks, liaising with Global Compliance teams for AML
-Ensure monitoring activities are independent.
-Foster a close working relationship with key stakeholders in Europe including Europe Monitoring Teams, Europe COOs and other senior management in the business, including keeping abreast of key business, regulatory and industry developments and any changes to procedures and practices.
-Contribute to the preparation of compliance risk assessments, drawing on the experience and knowledge of the AML team and with the active participation of senior managers in the Business.
-Contribute to the preparation of monitoring plans for AML in European sites.
-Contribute to the preparation of consolidated MI on the results of monitoring across European sites for senior managers in the Business.
-Contribute to the provision of education and support to monitoring specialists in European sites in risk assessments, planning and conducting reviews.
-Prepare reports to inform key stakeholders of the outcome of monitoring and review work, including rating findings and assigning owners/actions.
Skills:
-Good understanding and experience of Financial Crime regulations
-Extensive experience of control testing gained within a financial services organization or audit/consulting practice
-Willing to travel up to 40% Internationally
-Awareness of good risk management and governance frameworks including 3 lines of defence criteria
