VP Credit Risk (Direct Investments) recruitment

About the Client:

Investment bank with aggressive direct investments across Greater China

Responsibilities:

Assist the team head to anticipate the increasing amount of business for direct investments and structured finance;
Perform direct investment due diligence, which includes reading documentation, analyzing performance and risk data, performing background checks, setting up meetings, attending on-site due diligence, and drafting well-written, cogent, due diligence analysis;
Assist to enhance and streamline the daily operation of the team; and
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
The role is a senior risk analyst. Whilst there are no direct managerial responsibilities, the analyst should be able to provide leadership, inspiration, and guidance to the junior staff analysts through examples.

Requirements:

7-10 years relevant experience in credit risk management in reputable financial institutions, with a bachelor degree in finance, economics or equivalent, MBA or CFA is also highly desirable;
Strong analytical skills, especially for fundamental analysis;
Experience in dealing with direct investment risk analysis; demonstrated understanding and success/ hand-on skills in managing the risk/return profiles in the following asset classes: public and private corporate bonds, structured products (pre-IPO loans), and alternative investments (including private equity);
Demonstrated organizational savvy to work effectively across perceived organizational boundaries in a heavily matrixed organization;
Mature and a team player with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to different level of staff, including senior management;
Proficiency in PC skills and various analytic models, including MS Words, Excel / VBA, Chinese Word processing and other macro-level risk measurements
Fluent in both English and Putonghua.
