VP – Credit Risk Specialist – Global Mortgages and Securitised Products recruitment
Role Profile:
- Credit risk management support of the Global Mortgages Sales Trading businesses including ABS, RMBS and CMBS sales and trading activities.
- Deal screening, detailed review, approval and monitoring of Asset Based Lending Warehouse facilities. This requires an understanding of the structures, the assets and the embedded risks and structural mitigants. Asset classes range from auto loans, residential mortgages, consumer credit, credit cards, etc.
- Review and approval of structured securities funding facilities including Repo and Total Return Swap structures.
- Review of Commercial Real Estate trading opportunities.
- Acting as an interface / subject matter expert between counterparty credit officers and the business to set appropriate limits, haircuts and margins as required.
- Review and approval of credit risk exposures to SF SPEs including Credit Linked Notes and Repacks. This includes:
- The preparation of credit approval documents, ongoing monitoring and annual reviews of counterparties.
- Ongoing management of credit risk exposures to a portfolio of legacy positions including CDO’s.
- Review and approval of non standard trades, new products and new business initiatives.
- Ensuring that credit risks arising from the trading businesses are properly reported and managed.
- Maintenance and development of credit risk policies.
Requirements
- Candidate is required to have solid experience in credit risk management.
- The candidate will have had significant experience of reviewing and approving variety of structured transactions including asset based lending facilities and derivatives facing securitisation vehicles.
- The role also requires an understanding of counterparty risk measurement, and metrics (expected exposure) and the ability to factor in non-credit specific issues such as capital and accounting treatment into their risk decisioning.
- Strong understanding of structured finance (ABS, RMBS and CMBS) and traded products with a background in transaction approvals. Good understanding of related documentation (ISDA, GMRA)
- Candidate will have experience of discussing transactions with a front office deal team and negotiating structural points accordingly. Be able to concisely summarize key risks and articulate them to senior management
- Strong software skills including Excel, Bloomberg, exposure to products such as Intex/rating agency models or an understanding of internally developed cashflow models used to review securitization structures
- Ability to work as a pro-active partner to the business while ensuring robust credit risk management.
- Team player.
- CFA, MBA or similar
- Formal credit training
- Candidate will have held credit approval authority in a prior role
