JOB SUMMARY:
The Specialist is responsible for working with our existing sales professionals to develop new business client service across the National Broker Dealer, RIA, and Independent Channels. They will also have responsibility for New Business Development and Client Service in the Advisor driven retirement space.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Primary responsibility is to develop new Retirement business for the firm. Work with appropriate Sales teams to identify asset gathering opportunities with both current and prospective financial advisors as well as, institutional, defined contribution relationships
- Coordinate with our Regional Manager across the sales channels assisting them in closing significant sales opportunities in their region
- Regular travel to address specific product sales goals/targets
- Work with Sales and Marketing leadership to develop the specific sales stories for targeted products including input towards material development
- Team with Corporate Accounts on appropriate opportunities:
- Top advisors based on Retirement Portfolio
- Sponsor-developed conference calls
- Presentation opportunities at sponsor
- Regularly identify appropriate content produced by Affiliate or Fund subadvisor(s) work with Marketing and Compliance teams for use in sales channels
- Interact with Investment Research on both product and subadvisor specific issues
- Provide regular reporting of activities in CRM, record pipeline of new sales opportunities, large client focuses and product initiatives to Sales Leadership
- Manage DCIO Advisory senior associate - to include oversight of daily service model to select DCIO clients and implementation of DCIO service model for all DCIO clients
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proven record of successful sales expertise in the financial industry within the Defined Contribution space across the Wirehouse, RIA, and Independent and select other channels.
- Strong knowledge of the Investment Management Industry and key portfolio management concepts
- Communicates effectively and persuasively with colleagues, clients and brokers
- Comfortable working with databases for tracking of business and measurement metrics
- Supports and upholds Firm values and treats others with respect and consideration
- Acts as a role model and resource for junior employees
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance or marketing related major
- Master’s or professional designation of CIMA or CFA a plus
- Minimum of seven years in financial services industry, with a minimum of five years of demonstrated DCIO Advisory sales experience
- Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 licenses – series 24 preferred as well
- Valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive overtime may be necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive travel required – range of travel to include 70 to 80% of time
