VP & Director – Financial Analysts – Board Sponsored Cost Analytics Function – Leading Investment Bank recruitment

VP Director - Financial Analysts - Board Sponsored Cost Analytics Function

Leading global investment bank is currently building a market leading Cost Management and Cost Analytics capability. Marking the change in banking landscape, with the front office geared more towards high volume low margin vanilla trading, cost management is of significant interest to the Board. The board recognises profit is driven as much by cost reduction as it is by increased revenue.

This highly empowered commercial finance function will borrow from other sectors, such as manufacturing and pharmaceuticals, to bring in a depth of expertise not generally associated with banking costs people.

Taking this function far beyond reporting costs, this will be more about advising and challenging every corner of the business around cost reduction and the implication of changing the cost base, now and projecting forward. We are keen to speak to individuals who are able to drive into large data sets to identify trends opportunities and then articulate the story back to the business. It is likely that you will have highly evolved analytical skills, possibly learnt in a front office research or academic environment. You are likely to be a qualified accountant or highly numerate - able to understand and articulate trends you can see in large quantities of financial data, plus confident enough to face off to divisional or function heads across a global bank.

Will provide cost analysis which will provide transparency and insight to the senior stakeholders of the bank. This will in turn provide the Global Banking COO and the Front Office Management team with valuable cost advice / information.

You will insure that financial information presented must be of the highest quality, standard, interest and relevance to the decision makers of the bank. This includes communications with the Global Regions and the major stakeholders, as well communicating and monitoring timelines and sign off of the consolidation tool to be used in the process.

Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CA) working in and around cost for FMCG FTSE 250 companies.
