VP- Equities Valuation (REF NO. VPEV-DK110412) recruitment
This hire will be a key member on their HK Valuations group and be responsible for the banks regional Equity activities. Alongside performing monthly and intra-month IPV of securities on the banks books and records and oversight and development of valuation methodologies, you will be required to bring solid stakeholder management and leadership skills and manage client relationship across the region. The role requires you to oversee and develop valuation methodologies, model appropriateness and reserving issues and analysis and communication of key valuation uncertainty issues to senior management as well. You will proactively be involved in improving processes and methods including streamlining, automation and off-shoring of existing processes and liaising with trading, senior finance management, market risk, auditors and regulators in valuation issues as they arise. As a critical member you will play an active role in development of global bank valuation policies and standards and Asian implementation of the same as well.
To be eligible for this vacancy, you must be degree holder ideally in accounting/ mathematics/ statistical/engineering or economics background. You must have atleast 6+ years of experience within valuation/product control function in a major investment bank with in-depth knowledge of equity markets. Specific exposure to reserving, pricing and modeling aspects of valuation control of trading business is preferred. Good working knowledge of Excel and possibly VBA and hands-on experience of market data providers including Reuters, Bloomberg, ISMA and Markit is important. You must be numerate, articulate and confident and be able to interact effectively with the trading staff and senior management.
