VP Finance Manager recruitment
In this market we are seeing more and more candidates look to get into roles like this as they offer much broader specifications and responsibilities (get to know the bank more and the figures you are dealing), better development plans (defined succession plans, such as this), the chance to make a big impact, good work/life balances, strong bonuses (approx 3-4 months) and so on.
This is a super opportunity. Their current finance space is essentially split into two - management accounting and financial accounting. This role is based in the latter, which is again split into two areas, the first being Regulatory Reporting (which covers the financial side of risk, Basel, MAS and so on) and the second being basically everything else - financial reporting, financial control, month ends, control validation, related projects, dealing with auditors, accounting treatments and so on.
The bank has ambitious plans for expansion in the next 5 years and needs people who can sit well with their growth trajectory - people who can drive change, promote best in class practices, take on responsibility and so on.
They are looking for someone to join at about ideally the Finance Manager (7-9yrs) or may also consider Deputy Financial Controller (8-12yrs). You will start off leading a team of 2-3 or maybe even 4 and then as time progresses, your knowledge of the bank, processes and so on increases take on the full FC role. They can envisage this take place in about 1.5-3 yrs time.
They are looking for someone from banking or currently in financial services audit (if the latter must have a significant - 75% + - amount of exposure to banking audit), be ideally audit trained (and have CPA, ACCA or ACA/CA qual) and have a minimum of 7-8 years experience. You must have very strong experience of IFRS/IAS reporting, financial control, month end closing, reconciliations, technical accounting treatments for financial products and some good process change.
