Our client is a top 10 global financial institution with an AAA credit rating, strong liquidity and an impressive balance sheet that they are looking to deploy in Europe, to date a relatively small market for them.

In order to support the growth being seen within the European business, significant evolution and change is occurring within their finance function, and a number of senior finance professionals have been appointed over the last 12 months. Following a series of promotions, an opportunity now exists for a VP of Financial Control and Reporting - this is a role which will report into the Head of Finance and be part of a 10 man financial reporting. Responsibilities will include all external and internal financial reporting for the European business (including all LOB control), with a significant focus on the re-engineering of the financial control function to ensure timely and accurate delivery of results to HO, implementation of IFRS, growth and development of the regional finance team.

Candidates will be qualified chartered accountants with significant post qualified experience within a financial/legal entity control role within a financial institution with previous experience and understanding of how to account for a variety of financial products. The ability to face off to senior non finance stakeholders, and manage an effective relationship with an overseas head office is also important.
