VP – Financial Institutions recruitment
The position will involve working with senior members of the Financial Institutions team on all aspects of the rating process, including full responsibility for a portfolio of companies. The Financial Institutions Group encompasses analysis of banks, thrifts, securities firms, asset managers, consumer finance, commercial finance, leasing, credit unions, mortgage companies, and GSEs.
We are specifically looking for a seasoned analyst who has ideally has direct analytical experience covering asset managers (both traditional and alternative), trust and custodial banks and some knowledge of securities/broker-dealer firms. The analyst should have industry knowledge of these sectors as well as a solid understanding of the qualitative and quantitative metrics used to analyze these firms.
Primary duties as a lead analyst will include: conducting onsite meetings with company management; performing analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors; presenting companies to our internal credit rating committee; communicating credit risk rationale to senior management; and writing and publishing research reports. Position will also require an active role in assisting in related industry studies. The qualified candidate should have 7+ years of direct credit risk experience. Must be a self-motivated professional who works well in a team environment, must demonstrate strong writing and communication skills, strong command of financial statement analysis, including U.S. GAAP, IFRS a plus, have experience with spreadsheet creation and analysis, and the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously. This position is available in New York or Chicago but a New York candidate is preferred.
