VP, Fund Accounting Manager – Worldwide Securities Services
J.P.Morgan are looking for an experienced Fund Accounting Manager to join our team within our Worldwide Securities Services business in Hong Kong.
The JP Morgan Fund Accounting Team provides a range of services to institutional asset managers across the Asia region. Reporting to the Head of Asia Fund Services, the Fund Accounting Manager (FAM) is responsible for the delivery of accounting services provided by a Fund Accounting team of 15-20 who are responsible for a variety of fund structures including hedge funds. Management experience and a broad knowledge of the business needs of institutional fund accounting clients are essential. The FAM will motivate and provide strategic direction to the Fund Accounting Team Leaders and work closely with Client Servicing and Relationship Management Groups to ensure accounting operations are structured resourced to meet the changing client needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the Fund Accounting production team the resulting service delivery to clients. Evaluate act upon performance metrics produced by the team
- Leadership day-to-day support of the FA Team Leaders. Provide a point of escalation for any operational issues that may arise
- Provide periodic updates on business progress to Senior Managers
- Project management of business operational development within the Fund Accounting Group
- Interaction with Risk Management Quality Assurance to ensure the control environment is maintained to the appropriate levels
- Represent Senior Management to the team and ensure corporate initiatives are implemented
- Client liaison in terms of query management and service development
Skills
- Fluency in English, Mandarin will be an advantage
- University graduate with major in Finance/Accounting
- ACCA/CPA qualified
- 10+ years management experience within fund accounting
- Experience of reporting under IFRS an advantage
- Broad knowledge of the processes of a fund's Custodian Bank Investment Manager
- Analytical with good problem-solving skills
- Risk-management focussed takes a disciplined approach to change management
- Ability to communicate effectively to clients Senior Management
- Proven client management skills
