Position Summary

Under direction of the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, oversees the domestic and international human resources activities for select global business units; serves as a strategic business partner in order to support the overall business strategy for newly acquired entities on a global level. Plans, directs, and oversees associate relations activities including labor, policy and compliance. Position should have experience overseeing human resources related functions in a large, international company.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supports global mergers and acquisitions efforts, including evaluating business and talent model, conducting due diligence, and developing HR plans to integrate acquired company into organization.
  2. Builds strong relationships with senior managers of the function in all countries he / she is responsible for and strives to be a business partner and coach.
  3. Participates on compensation committee and helps set global strategy and recommendations regarding base pay, incentive plans, pension plans, and executive compensation plans.
  4. Develops and monitors HR budget for supported units.
  5. Provides guidance and policy interpretation on a variety of complex issues such as employment, performance management and terminations that ensure compliance with the Company’s standards of fairness and are in compliance with global and individual country regulations.
  6. Assures compliance with all HR related components of policies, union contracts, works councils.
  7. Updates and/or designs new employment policies, procedures and guidelines to assure accuracy and availability of relevant data as appropriate.
  8. Oversees all aspects of Labor Relations and Legal Compliance on a global level.
  9. Partners with Human Resources leadership to design, develop and implement policies and programs that respond to the needs of business ensuring the success of the business strategy and objectives.
  10. Leads associate engagement program and fosters company mission, vision and values through communications, employee relations, facilitation of rewards and recognition, and employee involvement.
  11. Interacts regularly with internal and external business partners in order to maintain knowledge of innovative systems and methodologies used in the human resources environment.
  12. Works with HR Recruitment and business unit management to design/develop and implement long/short term recruitment strategies, which identify and source high quality talent in a timely and cost effective manner.
  13. Assesses, recommends and implements specific management and associate development, training and change initiatives that support the business strategy.
  14. Works with HR Compensation and business unit management to ensure that compensation practices are externally competitive and administered equitably and accurately; works with HR Benefits, business unit management and associates to educate and administer associate benefit programs.
  15. Responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of long-range plan goals and objectives of the Human Resources organization.
  16. Works closely with the Senior Vice President of Human Resources on all HR activities, and is a member of the ABC Human Resources group, which sets the HR strategy for the overall organization to ensure internal equity as it relates to compensation, stock options, and annual incentives.
  17. Works with Corporate, regional and global Human Resources leadership to design, develop and implement organizational structures and processes that promotes efficiency, associate commitment and ensure the achievement of the business strategy.
  18. Contributes to the fiscal year budget planning process.
  19. Travel required to ABC locations throughout the company. (Approx. 50%)
  20. Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements

Requires broad experience in fields such as human resources, finance, business administration, or similar disciplines; four year bachelor’s degree in Business HR or related field, Master preferred; minimum of twelve (12) years of HR experience demonstrating progressive responsibility; professional license or certificate in specialized field: Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) desired. Acts as liaison to implement Human Resource changes relating to executive level associates in the Business Units.

  5. Thorough understanding of human resources management principles on a global scale

  6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to support large, dispersed groups in various locations.

  8. Ability to lead dynamically and energize multidiscipline, global work teams to learn and apply new skills and techniques to respond to business needs.

  9. Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions; ability to resolve associate issues effectively and efficiently.

  10. Excellent consultative skills.

  11. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  12. Strong presentation skills with previously experience presenting to senior management.

  13. Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook.
