Department Overview The Client Relationship Teams (CRTs) provide generalist HR support for the Barclays Capital businesses in the Americas. Activities covered include lateral recruitment, performance management, and compensation and employee relations advice. The CRTs are the first line of HR response to employee queries and provide support to senior managers in managing the people issues within their businesses. The CRTs are aligned by Infrastructure and/or Front Office businesses

Main Function

Working within the HR Infrastructure team supporting the Mexico Office operations with specific focus on the Mexican Legal and Regulatory Framework. There are several key responsibilities of generalist role:
Providing front line HR generalist coverage to clients. Working closely in an advisory capacity with clients. Interfacing with the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to ensure delivery of HR products and services to the business and communication of business priorities into the specialist teams. Supporting the Global Business Partner to ensure that Global HR strategies are delivered and objectives are met. Make sure that all Mexican Regulatory and Legal obligations related to the HR world are met

Main Duties

Build credibility with the client base to be seen as a true Partner by becoming well versed in the business and developing an all-round understanding of HR policies and procedures.
Act as the key HR interface for local clients for the provision of strategic HR advice and guidance; be the primary HR contact for Mexico-based clients and Global HR in relation to initiatives and activities with a global reach or direct Mexico HR impact. Work in partnership with the regions to deliver global strategy and plans. Provide advice and identify HR opportunities to / with senior managers, ensuring HR issues are owned and solutions effectively delivered. Represent HR in key client and local regulatory associations forums to ensure the HR implications of business activities are well planned and understood in the early stages, and appropriate action taken. Communicate these outcomes to appropriate HR players in the US / Asia / UK, as necessary. Work with specialist ER in the US and other regions, to ensure issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively with due regard to risk and Local legislation. Analyze and synthesize data; present findings to the client in organized way Coach line managers around ER, Comp, performance mgmt and other HR related issues.

Person Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
BA or BS Degree 5+ years experience in a Generalist function 2+ years experience in Banking Preferred Qualifications: Experience within Financial Services preferably supporting Investment Banking Business Ability to manage high volume and multitask Strong excel and data management skills The successful candidate will be a confident and motivated self-starter. He/she will be a strong team player but able to operate independently, well organized and possess the ability to build long term relationships. Knowledge of employment law, Mexican regulations, employee coaching techniques and compliance regulations.
